Job summary

Qualifications

• 3+ years in database engineering, SRE, or platform engineering.
• Hands-on experience with AWS RDS / Aurora in production.
• Experience with distributed databases such as Cassandra.
• Terraform expertise for infrastructure as code.
• Strong troubleshooting and incident management.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage AWS RDS and Aurora environments across multi-region setups.
• Operate and optimize Apache Cassandra clusters in distributed environments.
• Build and maintain database infrastructure using Terraform as a core practice.
• Develop reusable Terraform modules for provisioning, networking, security, and DR policies.
• Implement high availability and disaster recovery strategies (multi-AZ, replicas, cross-region failover).
• Define and enforce database platform standards and monitoring.
• Optimize performance through tuning and indexing strategies.
• Build observability with CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, and New Relic.
• Automate workflows and integrate with CI/CD pipelines.
• Support migrations (on-prem → AWS, RDBMS → Cassandra where applicable).
• Collaborate on schema design, data modeling, and scalability patterns.
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident analysis.
