Job summary

Human Capital Research Corporation in the Chicago area is seeking a full-time Data Engineer to join the development team. The role focuses on building ETL pipelines and migrating locally hosted workstreams to a cloud framework, collaborating with analysts and consultants on data-driven solutions.

You will design new software tools for data conditioning and analytics, maintain existing applications, and contribute to the full software development life cycle.

Qualifications

• Experience solving data engineering problems on multidisciplinary teams.
• Understanding of ETL strategies and building data pipelines.
• Knowledge of Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML and CSS.
• Proficiency with a database system such as SQL, DynamoDB, or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud technologies including Glue, Lambda, and S3.
• Working knowledge of React, PySpark.
• Preferred experience with NoSQL and TypeScript.
• Demonstrated data warehousing concepts and approaches.
• Full software development life cycle experience.
• Experience with Service Oriented Architecture and Git.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop software tools to automate data conditioning and analytics display.
• Maintain quality control, fix errors, and enhance existing applications.
• Assess, test and validate newly prototyped procedures.
• Document best practices and communicate with internal stakeholders.
• Manage concept, design, production and implementation across the full SDLC.
• Provide ongoing communication with stakeholders on project status and future work.
• Offer end-user support and training to ensure proper use and improvements.
• Assess technical needs related to analytics product performance and opportunities.
