Job summary

AmTrust Financial Services seeks a Cloud Data Engineer to build scalable data platforms in Azure, including Databricks and Synapse. You will design and optimize data pipelines, implement CI/CD, and work with AI initiatives to power analytics and reporting across the enterprise.

The role requires strong Python/Spark SQL skills, deep cloud expertise, and the ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions for a diverse set of stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in cloud data engineering, ETL/ELT, data warehousing, enterprise analytics.
• Proficient with Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, and lakehouse architectures.
• Experience implementing Medallion Architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold) for scalable pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable cloud-based data engineering solutions and ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Apply modern cloud architecture, data lakehouse design, and data warehousing best practices.
• Develop, optimize, and tune SQL, T-SQL, Spark SQL, and PySpark workloads for performance and cost.
• Code, test, deploy Databricks notebooks and cloud-native pipelines using Git, CI/CD, and Azure DevOps.
• Manage end-to-end lifecycle of complex data initiatives from requirements to production support.
• Support AI/ML initiatives with data prep, feature engineering, and MLOps processes.
• Stay current with cloud, data engineering, AI trends and communicate with stakeholders.
