Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA in Foster City, CA is seeking a Database Engineer to design, build, and operate scalable, secure data stores powering applications and analytics. You will partner with AHE teams to shape schemas, tune performance, and automate operations using AWS and IaC.

The role emphasizes reliability, cost reduction, and accelerated delivery from development through production, with strong collaboration across teams and a culture of mentorship and growth.

Qualifications

• Strong AWS & IaC for DB resources required.
• Proven DBA/Database Engineer experience.
• Deep knowledge of AHE DBMSs (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, Redshift).
• Proficiency in SQL and query optimization.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable database solutions.
• Install, configure, and upgrade database software and tooling.
• Monitor performance; optimize queries, indexes, and schemas.
• Implement and maintain database security controls.
• Collaborate with developers on schema designs and SQL.
• Troubleshoot incidents and provide timely resolution.
• Develop and maintain architecture documentation and runbooks.
• Perform capacity planning and infrastructure improvements.
• Manage AWS database infrastructure (RDS/Aurora/Redshift).
• Stay current on emerging database technologies.
