Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. is seeking a Delivery Consultant specializing in Data Engineering & Architecture to design, build, and optimize data architectures for federal, state, local government, and national security customers.

You will work with a world-class team to deploy data lakes, data warehouses, and scalable analytics in the AWS cloud, guiding customers through architecture decisions and modernization efforts.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of technical specialist, design and architecture experience
• 5+ years of database (eg. SQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Kinesis) experience
• 3+ years of cloud based solution (AWS or equivalent), system, network and operating system experience
• 7+ years of external or internal customer facing, complex and large scale project management experience
• 5+ years of cloud architecture and solution implementation experience
• Bachelor's degree, or 7+ years of professional or military experience
• Experience with SQL, Python, schema definition, and software engineering best practices including secure, testable, and maintainable code

Responsibilities

• Clarify customer business outcomes during project discovery and translate into data architecture and engineering solutions
• Design and build data analytics applications that are secure, scalable, reliable, performant, and cost-effective
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, assess current infrastructure, and propose data migration and modernization strategies
• Identify, mitigate, and communicate risks related to solution and service constraints by making informed technical trade-offs
• Act as trusted advisor to customers on industry trends, emerging data technologies
• Share knowledge through mentoring and creating reusable artifacts
