Job summary

Peraton in Chantilly, VA is seeking a qualified Cloud Engineer with TS/SCI to plan, design, and develop AWS-based applications. You will help manage secure cloud environments and implement best practices throughout the development lifecycle.

The role requires hands-on experience with AWS services (SNS, SQS, EC2, S3), Linux administration, scripting (Java, Python, Bash), and cybersecurity concepts such as SAML and OAuth.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph required.
• Bachelors degree plus experience or Masters with experience.
• At least two years hands-on experience in cloud and security areas.
• Experience with AWS resources and Linux in production environments.
• Experience with Java, Python, Bash, or C.
• Knowledge of network resources, DNS, TLS, PKI, SAML, OAuth, IPsec.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design and develop cloud-based applications on AWS.

• Deploy and debug cloud initiatives across the development lifecycle.
• Design, develop and deploy modular cloud-based systems.

• At least two years of hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas:
• Creating or Configuring AWS resources such as SNS, SQS, EC2, or S3, especially using CloudFormation or Terraform
• Configuring or Troubleshooting Linux servers/instances in a production environment
• Implementing production software/scripts in a language such as Java, Python, Bash, C, or others
• Configuring Network resources and incorporating Cybersecurity, including subnetting, routing, DNS, TLS, PKI infrastructure, SAML, OAuth or IPsec

Duties include:

• Planning, designing and developing cloud-based applications (AWS)
• Managing cloud environments in accordance with company and sponsor security guidelines
• Deploying and debugging cloud initiatives as needed in accordance with best practices throughout the development lifecycle

• Employing exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to recognize and solve issues before they snowball into problems
• Assist sponsor withevaluating new cloud technologies as they becomeavailable in the enterprise
• Collaborate with other developers and engineers to evaluate and identify optimal cloud solutions
• Configure and monitor Linux installations including standard Linux utilities and shell scripts
• Create and configure secure cloudresources in AWS
