Job summary

Rocketdyne seeks a Cloud & Collaboration Principal to own the cloud platform strategy (Azure and/or OCI) and the M365 ecosystem. The role leads architecture, licensing, and data governance while coordinating with cyber/compliance for ITAR/CMMC requirements.

You will manage outsourced delivery partners and drive end-to-end migration from legacy environments to Rocketdyne-owned infrastructure before TSA expiration.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in cloud and/or M365 platform architecture with ownership of platform strategy.
• Hands-on Azure and/or OCI architecture experience (landing zones, networking, identity, cost governance).
• Deep expertise in Microsoft 365 tenant architecture, licensing strategy, and information governance.

Responsibilities

• Lead migration of SharePoint and Teams off LHX-hosted environments to the new Rocketdyne tenant.
• M TSA exit plan and budget for cloud/collaboration workstream — scope, sequencing, dependencies, resourcing, and cost.
• Identify and document LHX dependencies to be replaced or migrated before TSA expiration.
• Own cloud platform strategy and governance standards; direct outsourced partners on delivery against the plan.

The Cloud & Collaboration Principal is Rocketdyne's subject matter expert, architect, and owner for cloud platform strategy and the Microsoft 365 ecosystem — end to end, from architecture and roadmap through operational execution. This role sets the cloud strategy (Azure and/or OCI landing zones, workload placement, cost governance) and the long-term M365 roadmap (tenant architecture, licensing strategy, platform capability rollout), and directs outsourced delivery partners who perform day-to-day administration, endpoint management, and cloud workload operations against that roadmap. A defining part of this role is external collaboration: partnering closely with cyber architecture and compliance/GRC to define how Rocketdyne shares data and collaborates outside its own tenant — with primes, subcontractors, and government customers — in a way that holds up under CMMC Level 2, ITAR, and DFARS obligations. This role carries no direct-report headcount, but it does carry real management authority over outsourced delivery partners and sets the technical standards enforced across the platform. During the TSA exit, this role is directly responsible for building Rocketdyne's Azure environment and M365 tenant from the ground up — not administering an inherited one — and for planning and executing the migration of SharePoint and other collaboration capabilities off L3Harris-hosted environments onto Rocketdyne-owned infrastructure ahead of TSA expiration.

Key Responsibilities

TSA Exit — Azure & M365 Build and LHX Migration

• Design and build Rocketdyne's Azure environment from scratch — landing zone, networking, identity integration, and workload hosting — as a net-new environment independent of L3Harris (LHX)
• Design and build Rocketdyne's M365 tenant from scratch, including licensing, security baseline, and information architecture, independent of the LHX tenant
• SME for the migration plan and execution for moving SharePoint, Teams, and other collaboration capabilities off LHX-hosted environments onto the new Rocketdyne tenant, including data cleansing, content migration sequencing, and cutover planning
• M TSA exit plan and budget for the cloud/collaboration workstream — scope, sequencing, dependencies, outsourced delivery resourcing, and cost.
• Identify and document all LHX dependencies within scope (licensing, hosted services, integrations) that must be replaced or migrated before TSA expiration

Cloud Platform Strategy & Architecture

• Own Rocketdyne's cloud platform strategy — Azure and/or OCI landing zone design, workload placement decisions, and multi-cloud vs. single-cloud direction as ERP and engineering systems migrate off cloned environments
• Define cloud governance standards: network architecture, tagging/cost allocation, environment segmentation, and identity integration patterns
• Partner with business services group to create governance strategy [SH1] to ensure optimization of cloud spend.
• Direct outsourced delivery partners on cloud infrastructure execution — IaaS provisioning, workload migration off cloned environments, and ongoing operations — against the platform strategy

M365 Ecosystem Ownership

• Own the strategic architecture and roadmap for the Microsoft 365 ecosystem: tenant design, licensing strategy, and phased rollout of platform capabilities (Teams, SharePoint, Power Platform, Copilot and similar emerging capabilities)
• Define enterprise-wide standards for information architecture, data lifecycle, and collaboration governance within M365
• Direct outsourced partners on Intune/endpoint management execution — device compliance policy deployment, app deployment, and patch management — against the standards this role sets

External Collaboration & Compliance Partnership

• Partner directly with cyber architecture and compliance/GRC to design how Rocketdyne collaborates externally — with primes, subcontractors, suppliers, and government customers — across email, file sharing, and Teams-based collaboration
• Own the technical architecture for CUI‑compliant and ITAR-compliant external collaboration (e.g., secure guest access models, external sharing controls, and evaluation of GCC High or equivalent compliant environments where required)
• Ensure external collaboration architecture aligns with CMMC Level 2, ITAR, and DFARS boundary and data‑segregation requirements, working from cyber architecture's control framework rather than defining compliance requirements independently
• Serve as the platform-side technical counterpart to cyber architecture on any audit or assessment activity touching cloud or collaboration systems

Outsource Partner Management

• Direct and manage outsourced cloud and M365 delivery partners performing day-to-day administration, endpoint management, and operations — setting scope, priorities, and work assignments
• Own technical acceptance of outsourced partner deliverables — review, test, and approve architecture and configuration work before it moves to production
• Escalate and manage partner performance issues (quality, schedule, cost) in partnership with vendor management/procurement
• Evaluate outsourced partner statements of work and architecture proposals for technical soundness and compliance alignment before commitment
• Provide Tier 3 technical escalation point for cloud-and-collaboration-related issues surfaced through outsourced partner support

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years in cloud architecture and/or M365 platform architecture roles, with demonstrated ownership of platform strategy (not just administration)
• Deep hands‑on expertise in Azure and/or OCI architecture — landing zones, networking, identity integration, cost governance
• Deep expertise in Microsoft 365 architecture at the tenant/enterprise level, including licensing strategy and information governance
• Direct experience designing external/guest collaboration architecture in a regulated or compliance-driven environment
• Working knowledge of CMMC, ITAR, and/or DFARS requirements as they apply to cloud and collaboration platforms, and demonstrated ability to partner effectively with cyber/compliance teams
• U.S. Person status required (ITAR data access)
• Demonstrated experience directing and managing outsourced/AMS delivery partners — assigning work, reviewing deliverables, and holding partners accountable for quality and schedule without formal supervisory authority over them

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with GCC High, DoD‑compliant collaboration environments, or equivalent government‑cloud offerings
• Prior experience in aerospace, defense, or another export‑controlled manufacturing environment
• Experience architecting a tenant‑to‑tenant separation in a carve‑out, M&A, or divestiture context
• Microsoft or cloud provider architecture certifications (e.g., Microsoft 365 Enterprise Administrator Expert, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, OCI Architect)
