Job summary

Anthropic is seeking a backend-focused engineer to help scale Claude across cloud platforms. You will design, build, and own services that run reliably at massive scale, while collaborating with product, security, and infra teams.

We value autonomy, strong engineering fundamentals, and the ability to move quickly across AWS, GCP, and Azure. Location-based hybrid policy requires 25% in office in SF.

Qualifications

• Experience with large-scale distributed systems serving millions of users.
• Experience on at least one major cloud platform (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Familiarity with LLM serving is a plus.
• Strong collaboration across product, security and infra teams.
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
• Autonomy and end-to-end ownership.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own backend services across CSPs.
• Collaborate with inference, product API, systems, and security teams.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines to deploy model versions.
• Create interfaces to reduce cross-platform complexity.
• Assist capacity planning and workload routing.
• Analyze observability data to improve performance and cost.
