Job summary

CACI International is seeking a Cloud Automation Engineer to design, implement, and maintain IaC and CI/CD pipelines for Azure Government and Azure Commercial environments. You will automate provisioning, monitoring, and security controls, enabling AI and data analytics platforms for national security missions.

The role requires deep Terraform experience, strong Azure service knowledge, and a proven background in DevOps practices within a secure government cloud context.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree + 13+ years in cloud engineering, DevOps, infrastructure automation, or related field; equivalencies considered (Master’s + 10 years; 19 years with no degree; AA + 15 years)
• Extensive hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or equivalent tools (CloudFormation, ARM templates, Bicep)
• Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Azure cloud services, including compute, storage, networking, identity, and security services
• Proven experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI/CD, or Jenkins
• Strong scripting and automation skills using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar languages

The Opportunity:

CACI is seeking a skilled Cloud Automation Engineer to support the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Office of the Inspector General (OIG). This role offers a unique opportunity to architect and automate the infrastructure foundation for a cutting‑edge AI and data analytics platform that strengthens national security oversight through investigative, audit, and inspection operations.

As a Cloud Automation Engineer, you will design, implement, and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions that enable repeatable, scalable, and secure deployment of enterprise AI capabilities, data platforms, and mission applications across Azure Government and Azure Commercial environments. You will build CI/CD pipelines, automate environment provisioning, implement monitoring and logging infrastructure, and support containerization strategies that accelerate delivery while maintaining the highest standards of security and compliance. Working within a secure government cloud environment, you will be instrumental in establishing the DevSecOps backbone for a transformational program of national importance. Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform to enable repeatable, version‑controlled deployment of Azure environments for AI platforms, data analytics infrastructure, and mission applications

Build and manage CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, and approved DevSecOps tooling to accelerate secure software delivery

Implement automation solutions using Ansible, Python, PowerShell, or other approved technologies to streamline environment configuration, compute provisioning, and infrastructure operations

Support containerization strategies for OIGChat, AI platform services, and analytical applications, including Docker, Azure Container Instances, or Kubernetes‑based solutions

Implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting infrastructure for applications, data pipelines, and cloud resources using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and approved observability tools

Automate data quality checks, validation workflows, and operational processes to improve reliability and reduce manual intervention

Maintain infrastructure baselines, tagging standards, resource naming conventions, and configuration management to support governance, cost optimization, and compliance

Support cloud infrastructure deployment for pilot AI applications and analytical workloads, ensuring scalability, performance, and security requirements are met

Develop comprehensive technical documentation including architecture diagrams, runbooks, deployment procedures, and infrastructure‑as‑code repositories to support operations and knowledge transfer

Collaborate with Government stakeholders, security teams, and development teams to integrate DevSecOps practices, support Agile delivery, and maintain security and compliance posture.

Qualifications:

Experience with Azure Government and Azure Commercial/GCC cloud environments, including cross‑tenant connectivity patterns and compliance requirements

Hands‑on experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure Container Instances)

Background in federal government, FedRAMP, or highly regulated environments with understanding of ATO processes, security controls (NIST 800‑53), and continuous monitoring requirements
