A leading technical staffing firm is looking for an experienced Cloud Architect to enhance cloud architecture and DevOps efforts across AWS and/or Azure environments. The ideal candidate will have over 12 years of IT experience, including 8 years in cloud engineering. Responsibilities include designing and optimizing enterprise cloud solutions within secure federal environments. This is a mid-senior level contract role based in Washington, D.C. Competitive pay is offered, with a range of $59.00/hr to $100.00/hr.

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Architect to lead cloud architecture, automation, and DevOps efforts across AWS and/or Azure environments. This role is highly technical, hands‑on, and requires deep expertise in designing, deploying, and optimizing enterprise cloud solutions in a secure federal environment.

Required Qualifications

• 12+ years of IT experience, including 8+ years of hands‑on cloud engineering (AWS or Azure); strong DevOps background preferred.
• Proven experience designing and implementing cloud architectures.
• Solid understanding of FedRAMP services and secure deployment best practices.
• Experience managing AWS Public Cloud and GovCloud across multiple regions.
• Expertise with AWS Control Tower, stack sets, and multi‑account environments.
• Strong foundation in Linux and Windows systems, including troubleshooting.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code and automation tools:
• Terraform, CloudFormation, Packer, PowerShell, Python.
• Demonstrated ability to manage AWS services through console and CLI (IAM, VPC, load balancers, etc.).
