Job summary

Capital City College is seeking a Cloud & AI Technology Lead to drive secure, scalable cloud-enabled learning across UK sites. You will design, configure and deliver virtual learning environments, supporting staff and learners and collaborating with partner colleges to leverage AI and GPU computing.

This fixed-term hybrid role ends on 29 October 2027, with three days on site and two days across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Degree in computing or related discipline or substantial professional experience.
• At least three years in software development, cloud or platform engineering.
• Hands-on experience designing and supporting Azure or major cloud platforms.
• Experience coding with Python, PowerShell, JavaScript or similar.
• Ability to contribute to technical architecture translating requirements.
• Experience deploying and improving services with proper documentation.

Are you ready to make an impact at one of London’s leading Further Education providers? Capital City College is looking for a skilled Cloud & AI Technology Lead to support and drive key operational functions, helping shape the future of education in the heart of London.

About The Role

This role is offered on a full time, fixed-term hybrid basis. 3 days on site and 2 days across multiple sites. The contract will end on 29th of October 2027.

The Cloud and AI Lead will provide hands-on technical expertise to support Capital City College's work in cloud-enabled learning and the responsible adoption of artificial intelligence.

The postholder will play a key role in the architecture, design, configuration and delivery of secure, reliable and accessible virtual learning environments. These environments will enable CCC staff and learners, and learners at partner colleges across the UK, to access state-of-the-art technologies and tools, including virtual machines, hosted AI models, specialist software, data environments and GPU computing.

About You

We’re looking for a reliable and motivated individual who takes pride in delivering excellent service. You should bring:

• A degree in computing, software engineering, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, data science or a related discipline, or equivalent substantial professional experience.
• At least three years' experience in software development, cloud engineering, platform engineering or a related technical role.
• Hands-on experience of designing, configuring and supporting solutions on Azure or another major cloud platform.
• Experience of software development and scripting using Python, PowerShell, JavaScript or comparable languages and tools.
• Experience of contributing to technical architecture and translating user requirements into workable solutions.
• Experience of supporting services through design, setup, testing, deployment, documentation and ongoing improvement.
• Practical knowledge of AI technologies, including generative AI, large language models, APIs and workplace AI tools.
