Job summary

Scheels All Sports, Inc in Minnesota is seeking a customer-focused Sales Associate. As an employee-owner, you greet customers, assess needs, and guide them through the sales process to provide an exceptional in-store experience.

You will support merchandising, participate in product training, and help teammates while upholding Scheels' standards of honesty, integrity, and service. Physical ability to lift, stand, and operate equipment is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 1–3 months of sales experience.
• Able to stand, walk, and lift items; maintain a safe, accessible sales floor.
• Genuine courtesy and the ability to engage customers to determine needs.

Responsibilities

• Greet all customers on the sales floor with courtesy and a smile.
• Deliver exceptional customer service by engaging with customers and guiding them through the sale.
• Grow personal sales by meeting set goals and following Scheels' sales standards.
• Create a positive experience based on purchased products.
• Maintain visual merchandising and assist with freight and inventory restocking.
• Demonstrate product usage and retrieve items from store heights.
• Attend product training and store meetings; train new associates.
• Navigate a PC and handheld inventory device; use MS Office, Google tools, and AS400.
• Assist in other duties as assigned by leadership.

Responsibilities:

• Greet all customers on the sales floor with genuine courtesy and a smile, to ensure they feel welcomed the moment they enter your shop


• Deliver exceptional customer service by seeking out and engaging with customers, going through the steps of the sale to determine their needs, recommending appropriate products, and promoting the Scheels Visa Credit Card


• Grow personal sales by consistently hitting set goals and following Scheels' professional salesmanship standards and the steps of the sale to provide an above-and-beyond customer experience


• Create a positive end-user experience based on the products the customer is purchasing


• Maintain a high standard of visual merchandising and support the team with freight processing and inventory restocking


• Ability to demonstrate product usage within their shop and retrieve product from heights of greater than 6 ft


• Attend all required Scheels product training and all store meetings


• Assist in the training of new associates in the areas of the store''s expertise


• Ability to navigate a personal computer and a handheld inventory computer/scanner. Programs include: Microsoft Office, Google Email / Docs, and AS400


• Assist in all other assigned duties by the leadership team

Education & Experience:

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 1-3 months of sales experience

Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements:

Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.

Heavy work – Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
