Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Michigan operates a Store Textile Associate role focused on examining textiles for quality, preparing items for the next station, and supporting apparel sales. This position directly influences store performance and the community mission.

Qualifications

• Able to stand for two hours at a time over a period spanning up to eight hours.
• Must be able to work evenings and weekends some holidays.
• Evenings and weekends work may be required.
• Lift up to 40 pounds and move large boxes, furniture, and other heavy items.

Responsabilités

Job Summary:

Examines textiles to determine quality and suitability. Appropriately prepares for next station. Directly impacts organizational sales (50% of Goodwill sales are associated with apparel sales).

Essential Functions:

1. Secures textiles from container.
2. Thoroughly examines condition and determines whether product goes to hanging or salvage.
3. Meets or exceeds goals and standards of production and quality.
4. Accomplishes assigned cleaning routine.
5. Assists in the training of workers and consumers in cooperation with the Workforce Development Department staff.

Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Experience in sales is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Able to stand for two hours at a time over a period spanning up to eight hours.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Must be able to bend, stretch, and reach, and lift up to 40 pounds, walking or standing to a significant degree, and be able to move large boxes, furniture, and other heavy items.
