Job summary

Huntsville Hospital seeks a Medical Assistant to deliver direct patient care in a clinical setting. The MA will escort patients to examination rooms, assist with treatments and procedures, and ensure proper documentation and coding of procedures.

The role requires supporting the physician's orders, maintaining patient safety, and communicating effectively with staff and patients. CPR certification is required, CCMA preferred, with a focus on teamwork and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Current CPR Certification. CCMA Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Escort patient to the examination room and deliver direct patient care.
• Perform treatments and procedures as ordered by the physician.
• Recognize, report and document clinical observations.
• Ensure correct coding of procedures.

Job description

The Medical Assistant (MA) delivers direct patient care in the clinical setting beginning with escorting the patient to the examination room, performing any treatments and procedures required by the physician, and ending with the discharging of the patient. He/she recognizes, reports, and documents clinical observations. He/she is responisble for coding the procedures correctly.

Qualifications

Education required: High School Diploma or GED

License, Certification and/or registration: Current CPR Certification. Current Medical Assistant Certification (CCMA) Preferred
