Job summary

Job description

IV. CLINICIAN’S RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Provides culturally competent, trauma-informed individual and family therapeutic services to students and families both in-community and via telehealth.
  2. Provide screening, brief interventions, referrals, and school consultations.
  3. Works collaboratively with school staff, community partners, and caregivers to manage counseling referrals.
  4. Monitor referrals in Salesforce to ensure contact is made with referral source and clients, update client records pertaining to the requirements and expectations provided by the Department of Children and Families (DCF).
  5. Maintain client roster, through electronic health recording system and other duties as requested by DCF related to client records.
  6. Attends all team meetings and in service training, maintains direct service LOS as required by DCF.
  7. Provide information and linkage to other services which meet the need of the student and parents/caregiver. Refers the student/parent/caregiver to services upon completion of brief clinical interventions.
  8. Attends weekly clinical supervision with NJ4S Supervising Clinician. Maintains record of clinical hours in compliance with licensing requirements.
  9. Completes required training in compliance with licensing board.
Specifications
Education:

Graduate of an accredited college or university with a Master's degree in social work, Mental Health and Professional Counseling or equivalent field. Must be licensed as one of the following: Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC); Licensed Clinical Social Worker; Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC); or Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC).

Experience:

Two years’ experience working with youth and their families providing clinical services. Experience completing assessments and providing brief individualized clinical interventions to youth and families is required.

Knowledge:

Knowledge of adolescent development and treatment interventions for youth. Knowledge of trauma-informed care. Knowledge of community resources, assessments, progress notes, and computer database systems for youth. Knowledge of appropriate interventions for youth in crisis and non-crisis situations.

Skills and Abilities:

Ability to assess clientneeds; assists in obtaining concrete services and possesses the ability to complete all paperwork in a timely manner. Good written and oral communication skills. Has the ability to create a warm, caring, non-threatening therapeutic atmosphere. Has the willingness to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Understands professional ethics and issues of confidentiality. Has the ability to work on a multi-disciplinary team. Has the ability to use a computer database system.

Salary : $72,000
Vacation & Benefits:
  • Vacation: As a full-time employee working generally 35 hours per week, you will be eligible to participate in the Family Connections group benefit plans.
