Job summary

Community Resources For Justice, Inc. Shirley, MA is seeking a Clinician to join the CSMA Clinical Department.

You will collaborate with the CSMA Operations teams to support adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities and varied mental health needs, delivering clinical services based on Positive Behavior Supports. You will train direct care staff, develop PBS plans, monitor data, and provide individual and group therapy as needed, with a strong focus on outcomes and person-centered

Responsibilities

  • Actively participate as a dynamic member of a support team to plan, develop and implement services.
  • Develop and maintain effective PBS plans based on the principles of PBS.
  • Develop and maintain Psychotropic Medication Treatment Plans and augmentation procedures.
  • Maintain current approvals of PBS plans and other clinical documentation by necessary committees and team members.
  • Communicate with families, guardians, and relevant agencies concerning clinical concerns and progress.
  • Provide crisis management consultation and on-call support.
  • Conduct training for residential supervisors and direct care staff on clinical procedures.
  • Develop data tracking metrics and analyze data to measure behavior modification effects.
  • Teach social skills and emotional regulation to individuals and groups.
  • Provide individual and group therapy as needed and document progress.
  • Document communication with individuals and teams; participate in meetings.

About the role

The Clinician serves as a member of the Community Strategies of MA (CSMA) Clinical Department, working collaboratively with the CSMA Operations teams, to support adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities, varying mental health diagnoses, and behavioral challenges. The Clinician is dedicated to addressing the unique behavioral and mental health needs of the individuals living in CSMA residential and/or shared living placements. They are responsible for the development and delivery of effective clinical services using the principles of Positive Behavior Supports (PBS). The Clinician collaborates with members of the CSMA team to identify challenges within the environment, create support plans to increase positive behaviors and social skills to promote independence, and provide training and modeling to direct care staff.

What you'll do
  • Actively participate as a dynamic member of a support team to plan, develop and implement services.
  • Develop and maintain, in collaboration with members of the support team, effective individualized Positive Behavior Supports Plans based on the principles of PBS.
  • Develop and maintain Psychotropic Medication Treatment Plans and Medication Augmentation procedures based on medication documentation, symptom data and consultation with psychiatric providers.
  • Maintain current approvals of Positive Behavior Support plans and other clinical documentation by necessary committees and team members.
  • Effectively communicate with families, guardians, the Department of Developmental Services, the Department of Mental Health, and other agencies and providers concerning clinical concerns and progress of individuals served.
  • Provide consultation for crisis management and emergency implementation of procedures on an on-call basis.
  • Conduct engaging training for residential supervisors, shared living providers, and direct care staff to help develop their knowledge of clinical and programmatic procedures and effectively support the individuals we serve.
  • Develop accurate data tracking metrics and analyze collected data to measure the effects of behavior modification procedures and to inform goals of treatment.
  • Develop and implement effective procedures to teach social skills and emotional regulation skills for individuals and groups.
  • Provide individual and group therapy as needed, and document progress.
  • Document communication with individuals and teams.
  • Prepare for and actively participate in internal and external meetings; provide current clinical updates and progress, contribute approaches and procedures to effectively support individuals and teams. Meetings include but are not limited to Clinical Department, PBS Leadership, program staff meetings, ISPs, Risk meetings, and team meetings.

Required Education and Experience:
Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities, mental health diagnoses, or behavioral challenges preferred.
  • Experience designing and implementing support plans for individuals with developmental disabilities, autism and/or challenging behaviors preferred.
  • Understanding of Positive Behavior Supports preferred.
  • Heavy travel – once or more per week
