Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Supervisor to join our team at the Ascension St. John Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville and Ascension St. John Nowata in Nowata, OK.

You will oversee the Core Laboratory's day-to-day operations and ensure timely, accurate test results. Qualified candidates hold an associate degree in a chemical/biological science and at least four years as a technician; a bachelor's degree and prior supervision are preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Chemical or Biological science; four years' technician experience.
• Bachelor's degree and supervisory experience preferred.
• ASCP or AMT certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day Core Laboratory operations.
• Ensure tests are performed accurately and results reported timely.
• Directly supervise, train, and mentor staff.
• Monitor workflow and staffing; manage payroll and records.

LabCorp is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Supervisor to join our team at the Ascension St. John Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville and Ascension St. John Nowata in Nowata, OK.

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

Job Responsibilities

• Supervise the day to day operations of the Core Laboratory at UAB St. Vincent’s East Hospital
• Ensure laboratory tests are accurately performed and results are reported in a timely manner
• Directly supervise, train, and mentor laboratory personnel of the department
• Monitor daily workflow in the lab and schedule adequate assay coverage
• Responsible for ensuring all shifts in the department are properly staffed
• Research and resolve any production errors while escalating when necessary
• Engage in continuous process and service level improvements
• Ensure all equipment is being properly maintained through Quality Control
• Prepare and maintain Quality Assurance records and documents
• Evaluate new process improvements and make appropriate recommendations
• Meet regularly with direct reports to provide coaching and feedback for their development
• Perform bench work as needed and maintain proficiency/competency in technical operations
• Ensure all work is in accordance with state and Federal regulations
• Responsible for administering and managing policies and procedures
• Process and maintain payroll and personnel files, and administrative duties as needed

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology
• 4 years or more of experience as a Technician

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• 2 years or more of experience supervising or leading a team
• ASCP or AMT certification

Additional Job Standards

• In lieu of education requirements listed above, non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirement
• Strong working knowledge of CLIA, CAP and relevant state regulations
• Understanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures
• Proficient with Laboratory Information Systems and Microsoft Office
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• High level of attention to detail with strong organizational skills
• Comfortability making decisions in a changing environment
• Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan. Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
