Job summary

Charles River Insourcing Solutions is seeking a Clinical Veterinarian for the Hamilton, MT facility. The role focuses on veterinary clinical care and research support within BSL2-4 environments and involves managing an animal colony in collaboration with PIs and facility staff.

The ideal candidate holds a DVM or equivalent, with US licensure and AAALAC familiarity, and can work extended hours as needed. Involvement in training and compliance is essential to support infectious-disease studies.

Qualifications

Doctoral degree in veterinary medicine (DVM or VMD) from an AVMA accredited program.
Four years of laboratory animal experience with multiple species.
Thorough understanding of Animal Welfare regulations and AAALAC accreditation process.
Experience with IACUC and AAALAC preferred.
Ability to train investigators, technicians and staff in animal care procedures.

Responsibilities

Manage health care for the animal colony.
Perform veterinary rounds and provide clinical care and preventive medicine support.
Provide anesthesia and analgesia expertise to facilitate protocol development.
Contribute to preventive medicine program and sentinel monitoring.
Document observations and medical care using the POMS system.
Ensure regulatory compliance with USDA, FDA, AAALAC guidelines.
