Job summary

Animal Medical & Surgical Center in Canton, GA offers a Veterinary Externship providing hands-on clinical experience under the supervision of DVMs. Students will gain experience in histories, exams, treatment planning, diagnostics, dentistry, and observing or assisting surgeries.

Externships run from two to eight weeks and are designed for clinical year students. DVM students in the clinical portion of their education may be eligible for a travel and living expense stipend.

Qualifications

• Clinical year veterinary student required.
• Externship designed for clinical year students.
• DVM students may receive travel/living expense stipend.

Responsibilities

• Gather patient histories and perform physical exams.
• Assist in or perform treatment planning and diagnostics.
• Provide dentistry services and observe/assist surgical procedures.
• Assist in medical management of patients and client communication.
• Collaborate with supervising DVMs and support staff.
