Job summary

Marshall University School of Pharmacy seeks a Research Nurse to provide nursing care and coordinate study activities in clinical trials and other research programs in Huntington, WV. You will work with investigators, the trials team, and treating clinicians to ensure safe, consistent delivery from screening through visits and closeout.

Responsibilities include nursing assessments, consent support, specimen handling, administration of study treatments, data quality, and cross-site coordination.

Qualifications

• Current, active RN licensure in the United States.
• At least two years of relevant clinical nursing experience.
• Ability to follow study protocols and maintain accurate records.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with electronic health records and clinical research systems.
• BLS certification by start date and completion of required GCP training.

Responsibilities

• Support participant identification, recruitment activities, and screening against protocol criteria.
• Explain study activities and support the informed consent process.
• Plan and conduct study visits, coordinate appointments and investigations.
• Identify barriers to participation and coordinate appropriate support.
• Perform nursing assessments, vital signs, and protocol procedures.
• Collect and process specimens; ensure accurate specimen records.
• Administer study treatments per protocol and coordinate with the research pharmacy.
• Educate participants about procedures and self‑management activities.
• Maintain timely source records, nursing notes, and case report forms.
• Track missing data and study queries; ensure confidentiality and access control.
• Support sponsor monitoring visits, audits, and study closeout.
