Summary Clinical Trials Lab Core Project Coordinator I Position Highlights

The CTLC Lab Projects Coordinator I is responsible for initiating the startup activities of clinical research protocols, while under direct supervision, as they relate to clinical research sampling supported by the Clinical Trials Laboratory Core. This role will assist in seeing the trials through to activation as well as with implementing any impactful non-amendment changes (and amendment changes, as assigned) during maintenance, in accordance with shared resources and institutional standards. This position has a good understanding of project coordination and possesses strong problem-solving, communication and leadership skills. This position assists in developing study-related documents, anticipates potential obstacles to activation and pro-actively addresses them as directed by senior members of the team to avoid delay. This position will maintain those documents as part of any process change needs through study maintenance stages. This position will interact with leaders of other functional areas within research administration which are involved in the startup processes. This position will frequently interact with CTO clinical trial activators, clinical research coordinators, shared resources staff, as well as, on an as needed basis, study sponsors, vendors, and contracting research organizations.

Responsibilities
  • Attend Activation & Maintenance Review Meeting to report to Leadership about study preparations and work with the Lab Project Supervisor (LPS) or senior team member to troubleshoot any issues during the activation or maintenance process.
  • Potential to attend site initiation visits (SIV) with senior team member, in order to gather essential information related to core support.
  • Responsible for creating study-related documents including but not limited to the following: Protocol Quick References, Service Request Templates, Kit Pulling Flow Chart, Protocol by Vendor Entry, as assigned and in collaboration with senior team members and/or the LPS.
  • Responsible, as assigned, for the upkeep of these documents as it relates to process change throughout the maintenance phase of the protocol.
  • Assigned to review materials provided to ensure research sampling collection kits, lab manuals, waybills and other materials are in alignment with protocol activities.
  • Carry out physical and/or virtual review of initial supply and scanning of requisitions.
  • Carry out physical and/or virtual review of amendment supply and scanning of requisitions.
  • Must review with senior team member or LPS; may be assigned to alert internal stakeholders of any concerns.
  • Assist senior team member with reconciliation of supply destined for other departments that were received by CTLC.
  • Provides continuous follow-up with internal customers for the duration of the activation process to ensure timely completion of tasks, with support of senior team members. The same expectations are in place for communication and task completion during any maintenance phase changes. This includes but is not limited to: Clinical Trial Laboratory Core (CTLC) Manager, Lab Project Supervisor (LPS), Clinical Trial Activator (CTA) for the disease program impacted, and Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC).
  • Serves as a liaison for protocol activation and maintenance for internal customers; meets with core team regularly to provide progress updates.
  • Provides progress updates to disease program study teams when assigned.
Credentials and Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in relevant field of study with 3 years of experience in clinical research, correlative science and/or lab or other research coordinator background (preferably in oncology) is required.
Preferred Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field with one year experience in clinical research, correlative science and/or lab or other research coordinator background (preferably in oncology).
  • Experience in clinical trial lab-based research sampling support and/or coordination.

Salary Range $23.90 - $36.41 Salary ranges posted for this position represent the expected base pay range for the role. Actual compensation may vary based on location and a variety of job-related factors, including experience, skills, education, and internal equity among Team Members in similar positions.
