Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center seeks a Clinical Trials Financial Analyst II to support coverage analysis, budgeting, startup and post-award activities for industry-sponsored and IITs. You will work within the Consortium's central clinical trials office, collaborating with faculty, study teams and sponsors.

This role involves pre-award feasibility budgets, budget development, invoicing and financial reporting across platforms like OnCore CTMS and REDCap, with opportunities to influence process

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or equivalent.
• Two years finance experience, preferably in Phase I-III clinical trials.
• Experience developing complex, multi-phase clinical trial budgets and negotiating study budgets.
• Strong Excel skills and ability to perform complex calculations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and ability to work independently.
• Exposure to grant or project cost accounting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Partner with clinical trial staff and consortium study teams to communicate start-up process and milestones.
• Review study documentation and Medicare billing rules to determine billable items.
• Identify research costs and develop budgets for single and multi-site trials.
• Develop and maintain standard templates for budget development and post-award management.
• Prepare and manage startup documentation across OnCore CTMS, REDCap and email.
• Review budget, contract, and payment terms for compliance.
• Manage financial document updates from protocol amendments.
• Monitor labor and non-labor spending and report variances.
• Provide budget-to-actual reporting and suggest process improvements.
• Assist with forecasting and ad-hoc financial models.
• Collaborate with central offices, faculty and sponsors.
