Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Research Billing Specialist to coordinate clinical trial billing, collections, and reconciliation while supporting day-to-day department finance operations. The role partners with clinical site staff to ensure accurate invoicing and timely payments.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years in billing/coding or financial operations, strong communication, and proficiency in MS Office or Google Suite; oncology/research experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in accounting/science fields.
• Minimum 2 years billing/coding or financial operations experience.
• Experience with billing and collection processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate clinical trial billing, collection and reconciliation.
• Process payment requests for patient reimbursements and vendors.
• Serve as financial resource for site staff and research patients.
• Track clinical trial revenue using CTMS or financial software.
• Attend finance meetings and assist with patient account discrepancies.
• Prepare reports for the Finance department.
• Provide billing training for staff and assist with orientation.
