Utilizes transportation algorithm to determine appropriate follow-up for emergent and /or urgent patient needs. Transports items, equipment, charts and/or specimens that are unable to travel via pneumatic tube system.The Clinical Transporter I* Transports non-monitored patients (via wheelchair, bed, stretcher, transport chair, transcart and other transportation devices), specimens, charts, films, and equipment to and from designated areas within the hospital.* Transports calls responded to, arrived at, as well as completed within expected TAT for transportation department in a customer friendly manner.* Collaborates with the RN, physician, and other clinical disciplines to meet the needs of the patient who requires transportation between areas of care within the hospital.* Demonstrates thorough and complete documentation skills in a timely manner. Appropriately reports changes in patient status to licensed staff.* Utilizes effective communication skills. Receives and screens in coming requests via phone and other wireless technology. Demonstrates excellent telephone etiquette and interpersonal skills when interacting with patients, visitors, physicians and/or other health care professionals* Assists in new staff department orientation.* Utilizes proper body mechanics.* Maintains a safe comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients and families in accordance with hospital standards.
