Job summary

Siemens Healthineers is seeking a Clinical Specialist to provide on-site and remote clinical training and support for VIS products, helping customers use equipment safely and effectively. The role involves travel to local sites, carrying heavy equipment, and delivering hands-on education for physicians, nurses, and technicians.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
  • Clinical background such as IR/CT tech, OR nurse or surgical tech preferred.
  • Experience with IR suite, OR protocol, and sterile technique.
  • Experience with vascular procedures is highly regarded.
  • Experience with tissue ablation procedures is highly regarded.
  • Ability to work in a high‑intensity, fast‑paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide in-person case coverage.
  • Ensure products and components are available for each case.
  • Complete and process all procedure related paperwork.
  • Track and report all customer complaints.
  • Ensure physicians and staff have the most current information available.
  • Manage a disposable inventory sufficient to cover assigned case load.
  • Bring products to cases as required.
  • Train and educate physicians and hospital staff on VIS products.
  • Provide on-site clinical support during procedures while maintaining a hands-off posture.
  • Interacts with customers and teams to determine training needs and develop content of courses.
  • Coordinate or lead customer and/or employee training classes.
  • Conduct large group presentations at seminars, training programs, and trade shows.
  • Provide demo support at local, regional and national events.
  • Provide first line product technical support.
  • Support new installation to ensure products work as specified.
  • Collaborate with VIS Medical Affairs and Medical Education teams.
  • Assist Medical Information and Liaisons as required.
  • Document day-to-day interactions with physician customers.
  • Provide competitive product information to headquarters.

Provides clinical training and support to customers, as a subject matter expert, on-site and/or remotely to ensure customer is prepared to operate their equipment according to a minimum of safe and effective use guidelines and to fully utilize the complex functionality of the technology to meet their business needs. As a Clinical Specialist, you will support VIS products and procedures by assisting, training, and educating physicians, nurses, other hospital staff, and technicians on the use of our products. While the role will be primarily locally based, the positions may require regional and local travel if required (approx. 60%).

Role Responsibilities
  • Provide in-person case coverage
  • Ensures product/s and ancillary components are available for each case.
  • Completes and processes all procedure related paperwork as required.
  • Tracks and reports all customer complaints.
  • Ensures physicians and staff have the most current information available.
  • Manages a disposable inventory sufficient to cover assigned case load.
  • Brings products (including Microwave and Cryoablation generators) to cases as required.
  • Trains and educates physicians and hospital staff on use of assigned VIS products
  • Provides on-site clinical support during procedures while maintaining a "hands off" posture in relation to direct patient contact.
  • Interacts with customers and functional organizations to determine their training needs and uses engineering documentation such as Operators Manuals and DFUs to develop content of courses.
  • May coordinate or lead customer and/or employee training classes.
  • May also conduct large group presentations at seminars, training programs, and trade shows.
  • May also provide demo support to local, regional and national customer trade events.
  • Provides first line product technical support
  • Performs new installation support to ensure products are working as specified.
  • Provides first line technical service support via Engineering or Field Service Engineer oversight, when necessary.
  • Collaborates with the VIS Medical Affairs Team
  • Assists Medical Education, Medical Information, and Medical Science Liaisons if required.
  • Documents day to day interactions with physician customers.
  • Provides competitive product performance information to headquarters marketing or engineering groups.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred.
  • Clinical Background – IR/CT Technician, Operating Room Nurse or Surgical Technician preferred.
  • Experience/Knowledge of IR suite, Operating Room Protocol and Sterile Technique.
  • Experience in supporting vascular procedures highly regarded.
  • Experience in supporting tissue ablation procedures highly regarded.
  • Ability to work in a high-intensity, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Analytical with an ability/desire to solve problems.

Note: Candidate must live within close proximity or be willing to relocate to Houston, TX. This is a field based "remote" position that requires onsite work at several local customer locations. This role is governed by our Fleet Safety Policy.

The base pay range for this position is: $98,140 - $134,937 Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. If this is a commission eligible position the commission eligibility will be in accordance with the terms of the Company’s plan. Commissions are based on individual performance and/or company performance.
