Job summary

Merit Medical Systems, Inc. seeks a qualified training professional to deliver comprehensive clinical education and training programs for customers and staff.

The role involves developing curricula, assessing competency, producing training materials, and supporting field clinicians in the use of Merit products. You will work with product managers on training content, answer clinical questions, and contribute to symposiums and educational events while advancing Merit’s training initiatives

Qualifications

  • Education and/or business experience equivalent to a related Bachelor's Degree.
  • A minimum of six years of hands‑on medical experience.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to analyze feedback in training.
  • Understanding of training and development techniques and ability to implement a corporate training program.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver approved training and education programs for customers and personnel.
  • Deliver content during training portions and provide case support to trained customers.
  • Develop training curriculums and programs to improve knowledge, skill, and ability.
  • Define protocol and assist in field assessment of product market research trials.
  • Develop and implement ongoing home-study training to maintain clinical expertise.
  • Conduct ongoing staff training and provide clinical feedback to resolve issues.
  • Serve as clinical expert for the company.
  • Standardize and digitalize training materials and create in-servicing videos.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS PERFORMED
  • 1. Deliver approved comprehensive training and education programs that provide customers and personnel with up-to-date information on company products, procedures, and best practices.
  • 2. Deliver approved content during didactic portions of training.
  • 3. Provide case support to trained customers (domestic and international) as part of Merit's commitment to the safe and efficacious use of products.
  • 4. Conducts assessment testing to ascertain the skill level and ability of those individuals being trained, and develop training curriculums and programs to improve knowledge, skill, and ability.
  • 5. Defines protocol and assists in the field assessment of new product market research trials (MRT's).
  • 6. Develops and implements ongoing home-study training course to improve and maintain a high level of product and clinical expertise in the field sales organization.
  • 7. Conducts ongoing staff training and provide clinical feedback to resolve customer related issues.
  • 8. Serve as clinical expert for the company.
  • 9. Standardize & computerize (digitalize) sales training materials.
  • 10. Works with Product Managers to develop sales training and in-servicing videos.
  • 11. Answers clinical questions from doctors, technicians, sales representatives, etc.
  • 12. Supports sales and marketing efforts by in-servicing key customers on Merit products.
  • 13. Works in the field to support and train clinicians on the use of Merit products and to troubleshoot product related issues in the field.
  • 14. Assess clinical competency of new employees and provide comprehensive feedback and recommendations for improvement.
  • 15. Writes technical papers to support new emerging markets, segments and niches.
  • 16. Assist in coordinating and executing Symposiums and other clinical education events.
  • 17. Develops value added CEU credits to augment sales effort.
  • 18. Performs other duties and tasks as required.

SUMMARY OF MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • * Education and/or business experience equivalent to a related Bachelor's Degree.
  • * A minimum of six years of hands‑on medical experience. Experience within Endoscopy and/or General Surgery divisions preferred.
  • * Excellent communication skills and the ability to analyze feedback in a training environment to develop strategies to improve knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • * A thorough understanding of training and development techniques, and the ability to implement a corporate sales training program.
  • * Good analytical skills and the ability to understand complex issues.
  • * Excellent organizational skills and the ability to coordinate large programs.
  • * Demonstrated computer skills preferably spreadsheets, word processing, database and other applicable software programs.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • * Education and clinical experience equivalent to a Registered Nurse or Surgery Technician, or Radiology Technician.
  • * Medical product sales and sales training experience.

$100k starting base salary plus bonus eligible + benefits. Actual minimum and maximum may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
