Job summary

Primary Health Solutions is seeking a Clinical Trainer to lead onboarding and ongoing clinical training across departments. The role focuses on developing curricula, evaluating competencies, and coordinating with HR and IT to ensure seamless EHR workflows and staff development.

The ideal candidate has a Medical Assistant or higher clinical degree, 3+ years of healthcare training experience, and strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

  • Must have three or more years of training experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Training certification strongly preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with nurse practitioners, physician assistants, physicians, and clinical support staff.
  • Excellent teaching and presentation abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and improve onboarding training for clinical employees in group and/or one-on-one training, for both virtual and classroom setting.
  • Works closely with leadership and other HR team members to ensure staff have a valuable experience through onboarding.
  • Develop and improve upon clinical training curriculum.
  • Assign and assess clinical competencies of new clinical employees, ensures the new employee can work independently within 90 days of employment.
  • Conducts 30-60-90 competency assessment of new clinical hires.
  • Works in collaboration with Training & Development Coordinator and NextGen EHR training resources to ensure clinical and EHR workflows are working well in concert for staff and patients.
  • Assist in the development and updating of policies and procedures that aligns with best practices and standard workflow.
  • Coordinates and conducts annual or recurring training.
  • Participates to develop and implement clinical services and training strategies that address performance gaps.
  • Act as the PHS contact and provide oversight to the PHS Medical Assistant Preceptor Program and Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Placement Program.
  • Work in collaboration with HR and leadership to recommend clinical staff for continuing education and development opportunities to enhance skills and promote retention.
  • Collaboration with leadership, IT, HR, Clinic Operations and other stakeholders to work on projects, influence change management, drive training strategy, and coordinate project roll-outs.

Summary

The Clinical Trainer will work cross-departmentally to provide oversight and implementation of PHS' clinical training and development initiatives. The Clinical Trainer builds the PHS clinical team member’s expertise in patient care skills through demonstrations, continuing education courses and other educational offerings. The Clinical Trainer will support the HR function with routine, day-to-day standard work clinical and EHR processes, competency assessment and activities related to recruitment of clinical staff, on-boarding, (re)training, and Medical Assistant preceptor program.
