Job summary

Promises Behavioral Health is seeking a Full-Time Clinical Therapist at Washburn House in Worcester, Massachusetts. The role provides individual and group therapy within an interdisciplinary team and reports to the Director of Clinical Services.

Schedule options include Monday-Thursday 12pm-8pm, with an additional Friday shift. Compensation ranges from $52,000 to $77,000 annually, dependent on licensure and years licensed.

Qualifications

  • Master's or Ph.D. in counseling, social work, psychology or other counseling-related field required.
  • LPC, LCSW or LMFT and clinical qualifications or intern status licensure required.
  • Three (3) years' experience in social work or related field.
  • Experience working with addictions and/or mental health.
  • Experience using a variety of interventions including DBT, CBT, Family Systems.
  • Ability to demonstrate understanding of a variety of models and theories of addiction, mental illness and related issues.
  • Knowledge of philosophies, practices, policies and outcomes of models of treatment, recovery, relapse prevention and continuing care for dually diagnosed populations.
  • Understanding of diagnostic criteria for dual conditions and the ability to conceptualize modalities and placement criteria within the continuum of care.
  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding of diverse cultures and gender-specific issues and ability to incorporate needs of gender and culturally diverse groups into practice setting.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize workload and work independently.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Expressive or training in Therapies preferred.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification is required for this position. If not CPR/First Aid certified at time of hire, certification must be obtained within the state mandated time frame after first day of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Provides individual psychotherapy three times each week to an assigned caseload of clients.
  • Works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to ensure team treatment and a therapeutic milieu.
  • Establishes therapeutic relationships with assigned clients to facilitate the treatment process.
  • Completes all required documentation according to policies and procedures and ensures that daily clinical notes document the client's progress in meeting their treatment goals.
  • Provides psycho-education groups to support the milieu treatment program.
  • Takes lead as chief author, with the medical and nursing staffs, in writing the treatment plan of for the implementation of care according to client program policies and procedures.
  • Intervenes to de-escalate clients utilizing the least restrictive means of intervention.

Job Summary

Responsible for providing individual client and group therapy. This individual will provide services as a member of the inter-disciplinary treatment team, coordinating with the Director of Clinical Services, and other team members.

Essential Duties/Responsibilitiesinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Conducts an initial assessment and establishes treatment goals for identified clients
  • Provides individual psychotherapy three 3 times each week to an assigned caseload of clients
  • Works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to ensure team treatment and a therapeutic milieu
  • Establishes therapeutic relationships with assigned clients to facilitate the treatment process
  • Provides effective communication during the shift through activity such as:
  1. Participates in report and utilizes information to provide quality care;
  2. Communicates milieu and client issues to the treatment team members during the shift and problem solves effectively;
  3. Ensures compliance with confidentiality of client information.
  • Takes lead as chief author, with the medical and nursing staffs, in writing the treatment plan of for the implementation of care according to client program policies and procedures
  • Completes all required documentation according to policies and procedures and ensures that daily clinical notes document the client's progress in meeting their treatment goals
  • Supports the nursing staff and recovery specialists identifying the precursors of potential crisis and unsafe client behavior, and intervenes to de-escalate clients utilizing the least restrictive means of intervention
  • Provides psycho-education groups to support the milieu treatment program
  • Participates in community outreach and marketing activities as required for Washburn House and promotes exceptional customer service throughout the program
  • Ensures active client and family participation in the treatment process
  • Reviews client and staff satisfaction surveys and customer complaints and the results of monitoring standards. Initiates corrective action as indicated and monitors identified quality improvements
  • Attends and participates in regularly scheduled staff meetings
  • Takes an active role in quality improvement activities as assigned
