Job summary

Family Focus is seeking a Clinical Therapist to deliver trauma-informed, culturally responsive behavioral health services to children, youth, adults, and families across settings in the Chicago area.

This full-time role reports to the Center Director and collaborates with Case Managers, outreach workers, and partners to strengthen family resilience while ensuring HIPAA and licensing compliance.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology or a closely related behavioral health field.
• Illinois professional licensure or clinical credential.
• 2+ years of behavioral health/clinical experience.

Family Focus is seeking a Clinical Therapist to join our Healing Care & Practices team. This position provides trauma-informed, culturally responsive behavioral health services to children, youth, adults, caregivers, and families impacted by trauma, violence, grief, loss, and other behavioral health concerns. The Clinical Therapist works under the supervision of a Clinical Supervisor and collaborates with Case Managers, Street Outreach Workers, program staff, community partners, and other professionals to help individuals and families build resilience, strengthen relationships, and achieve greater stability.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Provide individual, family, caregiver, and group therapy.
• Conduct clinical and safety assessments and develop individualized treatment goals and plans.
• Provide trauma-informed behavioral health services in center, home, school, community, hospital, and other approved settings.
• Provide crisis intervention, psychoeducation, care coordination, and appropriate referrals.
• Maintain an active clinical caseload and complete timely, accurate clinical documentation.
• Provide Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) to young children and caregivers participating in Early Childhood Court/CPP services, as applicable.
• Support Community Violence Intervention programming through trauma recovery services, groups, healing circles, crisis response, and coordinated care.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and community partners.
• Participate in clinical supervision, reflective supervision, case consultation, staff meetings, and professional development.
• Maintain compliance with clinical, ethical, licensing, HIPAA, agency, and funder requirements.

The ideal candidate will have the following education and experience:

• Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or a closely related behavioral health field.
• Appropriate Illinois professional licensure or clinical credential consistent with program requirements.
• At least two years of behavioral health/clinical experience serving children, youth, adults, and/or families.
• Experience providing therapy and/or other behavioral health services.
• Experience working with trauma-affected individuals and families.
• Strong clinical assessment, documentation, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively with culturally diverse and underserved communities.
• Ability to provide services in community-based settings and travel as required.

Preferred Qualifications

• LCSW, LCPC, LMFT, or other applicable Illinois independent clinical licensure.
• Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) training or experience.
• TF-CBT, CPT, or other evidence-based trauma treatment training.
• IM+CANS certification.
• Medicaid behavioral health experience.
• Experience with DCFS, Early Childhood Court, or Community Violence Intervention.
• Experience working with young children and caregivers.

Schedule: Monday – Friday 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM / may need weekend availability

Salary range: $60,000-$67,000/year (commensurate with qualifications and licensure)
