Job summary

St. Croix Health in Webster, WI is seeking a CMA/LPN Clinical Technician for a 0.9–1.0 FTE, full-time clinic role with potential to fill in at other locations. Hours are weekdays 7:40–4:40, with flexibility and no current evening/weekend requirements.

You will support patient care under provider direction, perform rooming, document vitals and histories in EMR, assist with procedures, and manage follow-up activities. A CMA/RMA or LPN license with BLS is required.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program & current CMA/RMA credentials.
  • Current BLS certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS course.
  • OR – Current LPN licensure in the State of Wisconsin and Minnesota; BLS certification.

Responsibilities

  • Room patients and assist providers with procedures, examinations or treatments.
  • Monitor patient condition during treatments and sterilize equipment.
  • Administer immunizations per protocol and record medical histories.
  • Prepare medical supplies or equipment and collect specimens for testing.
  • Complete documentation in EMR and manage follow-up scheduling and communications.
  • Maintain inventory and ensure compliance with clinic policies.

Description

St. Croix Health is currently seeking CMA/LPN Clinical Technician. This is a full time position (0.9-1.0 FTE) working at our Webster clinic with potential to fill in at other locations when needed. There is currently no evening, weekend or holiday requirements, but this could change with business needs. Hours are generally Monday through Friday 7:40-4:40. Flexibility is greatly appreciated.

This position is responsible for planning and managing patient care according to patient need. Responsibilities also include rooming and interviewing patients, recording medical history and physical condition information including taking and recording patient vital signs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist in the examination and treatment of patients under direction of provider.

  • Room patients
  • Assist providers with procedures, examinations or treatments
  • Monitor patient condition during treatments, procedures or activities
  • Sterilize medical equipment or instruments
  • Administer immunizations per protocol
  • Record patient medical histories
  • Prepare medical supplies or equipment for use
  • Collect specimens from patients and prepare for testing
  • Complete appropriate documentation in EMR

Manages patient follow-up activities and responsibilities.

  • Document patient phone calls and follow-up data in EMR
  • Maintain medical facility records
  • Schedule patient procedures and appointments
  • Explain medical procedures or test results to patients and/or family members
  • Follow-up regarding patient plans, lab letters and other documents in a timely and accurate manner
  • Process other requests, including medication prior authorizations

Comply with department and facility standards.

  • Understand Clinic Policies and Procedures
  • Perform work according to organization policies and procedures

Other duties as assigned.

  • Maintain inventory of medical supplies or equipment
  • Order medical supplies or equipment

Requirements
Education & Licensure:
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program & current CMA/RMA credentials
  • Current BLS certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS course

  • Current LPN licensure in the State of Wisconsin and Minnesota
  • Current BLS certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS course
Experience:
  • Prior clinic experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with little direction and manage multiple demands and priorities

Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Prolonged periods of standing, bending, and reaching
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
