Job summary

CU College of Nursing is seeking a full-time faculty member to teach acute and primary care across the lifespan with responsibilities spanning didactic and clinical teaching. The position is located in Durango, Colorado on the Fort Lewis College Campus, with potential clinical practice elements for APRN candidates.

The successful candidate will join the College of Nursing in the IRC: Clinical Series and will contribute to teaching, scholarship, and service, fostering a diverse, inclusive

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited institution.
• Direct-entry master's degree in nursing from an accredited institution.
• Master's degree from an accredited institution in nursing or related field.
• Record of effectiveness in teaching, collegial collaboration, and commitment to scholarship.
• Eligible to obtain an unencumbered nursing license in Colorado.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate learning by engaging students in high-level activities across courses.
• Remain current with best practices in teaching pedagogy and cognitive learning theories.
• Develop expertise in simulation pedagogy.
• Maintain clinical relevancy with guidelines and interventions.
• Create a psychologically safe learning environment and foster teamwork.
• Collaborate with teaching teams to drive quality improvement and shared decisions.
• Support course outcomes and student assessment.
• Instruct using educational technology and simulation tools.
