Job summary

ARUP Laboratories, a Utah-based clinical reference laboratory, seeks an experienced architect to own the administration and lifecycle of clinical systems such as LIS, LIMS, and IMS. You will manage access, upgrades, environments, and vendor interactions to ensure compliant, secure operations.

The role partners with analysts, integration, and validation teams to maintain reliability and audit readiness for regulatory inspections. On-site work in Salt Lake City, UT is expected.

Qualifications

  • Experience administering clinical systems and handling user access, roles, and permissions.
  • Strong knowledge of LIS, LIMS, IMS platforms and regulatory expectations.
  • Ability to coordinate upgrades, patches, vendor releases, and validation processes.

Responsibilities

  • Administer assigned clinical systems, including user access, roles, security groups, and permissions
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute system upgrades, patches, and vendor releases following change and validation processes
  • Own environment management (DEV/TEST/PROD), refreshes, and configuration consistency
  • Monitor system health, performance, and availability, supporting Tier 3 platform issues and root-cause analysis
  • Coordinate downtime activities, recovery procedures, and disaster recovery testing
  • Ensure audit readiness by maintaining system documentation and evidence for inspections
  • Serve as the technical point of contact with vendors for platform-level issues
  • Support application teams by providing stable, secure platforms and enforcing admin standards
  • Adhere to change control, security, and regulatory requirements
  • Other duties as assigned
