Job summary

Children’s Hospital & Medical Center seeks a clinical IT Solutions Analyst to design, test and maintain hospital and outpatient IT applications. The role works with clinics, departments, and units to implement changes and improve end-user workflows across the EMR ecosystem.

The position requires an Associate’s degree with IT/medical focus, 2+ years IT/healthcare experience, and Epic clinical application exposure. EPIC certification must be obtained within 9 months of hire.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology, medical profession, or related field (Required).
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Minimum 2 years experience in Information Technology or healthcare preferred.
• Previous Epic clinical application experience preferred.
• Previous systems super user and/or trainer experience preferred.
• Must obtain EPIC certification within 9 months of hire and maintain it for duration of employment.

Responsibilities

• Design, test, implement and maintain hospital and/or outpatient clinical IT applications.
• Analyze, design, configure, test and maintain clinical applications to meet end-user needs.
• Maintain documentation of issues, resolutions and build documentation per policies.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers through effective communication.
• Participate on project teams to define requirements and optimize workflows for new or existing systems.
• Analyze and translate workflow requirements into efficient application solutions.
• Perform integrated testing of vendor functionality to ensure reliability and integrity of the EMR.
• Provide end-user training and development as needed.

Education

Associate's Degree in IT / Medical field

Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

EPIC certification (to be obtained within 9 months)

Design, test, implement and maintain hospital and/or outpatient clinical IT applications. Works with various primary care clinics, specialty departments, ancillary or inpatient units to support practice and implement changes as needed to the existing systems.

Analyze, design, configure, test and maintain Children’s Hospital & Medical Center’s clinical applications to accomplish the department goals and meet the needs of the end-users.

Actively and accurately maintain documentation of issues, resolutions and build documentation as outlined by department policies.

Build and maintain positive relationships with customers through effective and consistent communication.

Participate on project teams working with individual departments to define requirements for changing new & existing systems. Works with the team to define process flows & make recommendations for the most efficient utilization of applications.

Analyze and translate workflow requirements into efficient/effective application solutions.

Perform integrated testing of current and new vendor functionality to ensure reliability and integrity of the EMR.
