Job summary

Stanford Health Care in Palo Alto, CA seeks a Clinical Systems Analyst II to support core health-system applications, primarily Epic modules, and to implement, administer, and support assigned systems with minimal guidance from senior team members.

You will provide tier-2 support, design and implement enhancements, and collaborate with Infrastructure, Integration, Reporting, and Help Desk teams to deliver scalable solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a directly-related field from an accredited college or university.
  • 2+ years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide tier-2 support of application incidents reported through the help desk, including 24/7 on call coverage as required.
  • Provide application support and troubleshooting for production systems, including participation in on-call rotation, with focus on root cause analysis and long-term fixes.
  • Design, develop, and implement enhancements, workflows, and application features across the full development lifecycle (requirements, design, build, test, deployment).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and deliver scalable technical solutions.
  • Monitor application performance and identify opportunities for optimization, stability and reliability improvements.
  • Lead small to medium complexity development and upgrade initiatives, ensuring quality and alignment with business needs.
  • Develop and maintain application components, APIs, and data structures, including database updates and schema changes.
  • Implement changes using established development standards, version control, and deployment processes in compliance with policies.
  • Take ownership of modules and issues, acting as a liaison between stakeholders and technical teams.
  • Mentor junior team members in troubleshooting, solution design, and development best practices.
  • Contribute to and maintain technical documentation and support test cases and validation processes.
  • Perform daily monitoring of applications in production.

The Clinical Systems Analyst II supports core functions of the health system's applications to enable cost-effective, high quality, efficient, and safe patient care. This position will implement, administer, and support assigned systems under the minimal guidance of senior members of the team. The position will have a good understanding of Epic modules, ancillary systems, and health system operations.

What You Will Do

Education Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree BACHELOR’S DEGREE IN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY, COMPUTER SCIENCE, BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION, MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS, ELECTRONICS TECHNOLOGY, COMPUTER ENGINEERING, HEALTH INFORMATION MANAGEMENT OR A DIRECTLY-RELATED FIELD FROM AN ACCREDITED COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY. Required
Experience Qualifications
  • 2 or more years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience Required
Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
  • Strong experience in .NET Core / .NET 6+ development using C# and ASP.NET Core (Web APIs, backend services)
  • Proficiency in designing and building RESTful APIs and service-based architectures
  • Solid experience with SQL Server, including T-SQL, stored procedures, and performance tuning
  • Understanding of cloud-based application development, preferably in Microsoft Azure (App Services, Functions, Storage, etc.)
  • Experience with authentication and security standards such as OAuth2, JWT, and secure API design
  • Strong knowledge of object-oriented design principles and software engineering best practices
  • Hands-on experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines
  • Familiarity with modern web technologies, including HTTP/HTTPS, JSON, and basic front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues with a focus on root cause analysis
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to design scalable, maintainable solutions
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and collaborate effectively across teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical documentation and stakeholder communication
  • Ability to establish a set of tasks and activities associated with an intended outcome and timeline
  • Ability to take action consistent with available facts, constraints, and anticipated consequences

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $55.85 - $74.00 per hour
