Job summary

Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Clinical Support Worker to join the Neurophysiology and Diagnostic Imaging team in Dorchester. You will provide clinical support, chaperone patients and assist with examinations, ensuring a safe and efficient patient journey.

The role involves working across Neurophysiology, Ultrasound and Mammography, supporting staff and handling administrative tasks within a busy MDT.

Qualifications

To provide comprehensive clinical and technical support to the consultant Neurophysiologist Radiologists, physiologist sonographers, radiographers and the patients attending Diagnostic Appointment. The job role will involve a shift pattern of working over seven days per week. The post will involve working between Neurophysiology and Diagnostic imaging

This varied role involves working closely with physiologists, radiographers, sonographers, radiologists and other healthcare professionals to support the safe and efficient delivery of patient care. Duties will include acting as a chaperone and clinical assistant, preparing patientsandclinicalareasforexaminationsandprocedures,undertakingbasicpatientobservations,assistingwithpatientmovementandescorts,andsupportinginvasiveprocedureswithinyourleveloftrainingandcompetence.

You will also provide receptionandclericalsupport,maintainaccuratepatientinformation,assistwithclinicalsystemsandimageorrecordprocessing,monitorbasicstocklevels,andhelpensureclinicalareasandequipmentareclean,tidyandappropriatelyprepared.

The roleincludessupportingpatientsofallages,abilitiesandlevelsofmobility,includingwardandcommunitypatients,andmayinvolveworkinginarangeofclinicalenvironments,includingcommunityhospitalsandITU.

Wearelookingforsomeonewithexcellentcommunicationandorganisationalskills, a compassionate and patient-focused approach, and the ability to workeffectivelyaspartofabusymultidisciplinaryteam.Fulltrainingwillbeprovidedfordutiesappropriatetotherole,withallclinicalactivitiesundertakeninaccordancewithlocalprocedures,protocolsandcompetencyrequirements.
