Job summary

The Child Center of NY is seeking a dedicated Clinical Support Staff member to join our Youth Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team. This role provides intensive, community-based support to children, adolescents, and families to promote healthy development and engagement with services.

Summary

The Child Center of NY is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Clinical Support Staff member to join our Youth Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team. The Youth ACT program provides intensive, community-based services to children and adolescents with serious emotional disturbance and their families.

Essential Functions
  • Provide direct support services to children, adolescents, and families in home and community settings.
  • Assist clients with skill development in areas such as daily living, social interaction, coping strategies, and problem-solving.
  • Support youth and families in accessing and navigating community resources, including educational, vocational, medical, and social services.
  • Provide transportation assistance for clients and families, as needed, to facilitate access to services and appointments.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary ACT team to coordinate care and reinforce treatment goals.
  • Participate in daily team meetings and case reviews to monitor client progress and identify next steps.
  • Assist in crisis response and provide de-escalation support in collaboration with licensed team members.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services provided in the agency’s Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Engage families in treatment planning, encouraging participation and shared decision-making.
  • Participate in outreach and engagement activities to promote client involvement in care.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required, in a related field (social work, psychology, human services) strongly preferred
  • Experience working with children, adolescents, and families in behavioral health, youth development, or social services.
  • Strong communication, engagement, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Flexibility to provide services in the community, including evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Willingness to use public transportation for client visits when necessary.
