Job description

At Steadfast Health we’re a on a mission to deliver hope, healing, and long-term health to those experiencing substance use disorder, through best-in-class addiction treatment and an unwavering belief that lasting recovery comes from partnering with our patients as respected equals in their care journey. We’re a passionate team striving to raise the standard of compassionate care for our patients, and we know that to do that, we must care for our people first. We’d love to meet you and tell you about what we’re building!

This Role

We are seeking a mission-driven Behavioral Health Supervisor to join our founding Raleigh team, leading our clinicians and delivering whole-person, trauma-informed care to individuals with substance use disorders. At Steadfast Health, we believe that clinicians shouldn’t have to choose between patient-centered work and their own mental and financial wellbeing. That s why we re doing things differently, through an integrated, evidence-based behavioral health model that deeply supports both patients and clinicians. For our clinicians, that means compassionate, expert clinical support, competitive compensation, caseloads that prioritize quality over quantity and preserve time for recovery, generous and flexible time off policies, and financial investment in your ongoing professional development.

This is a brand-new clinic with no existing census: you’ll start with little to no caseload, and your clinical caseload will grow gradually as patients enroll, consistent with our organization-wide commitment to caseloads that prioritize quality of care over volume. In parallel, your supervisory scope will grow as we add clinical staff. As a founding member of our Raleigh team, you’ll have real influence over how our clinical program, supervision practices, and team culture take shape in a brand-new market - not just execute on an existing playbook.

Compensation Base salary range: $80,000 – $95,000, based on licensure, supervisory credential, and years of relevant SUD experience. Performance incentive: monthly incentive up to 5% of base salary, tied to clinic-level KPIs - This is a shared, clinic-level metric, rather then a individual productivity quota. Sign-on bonus: $2,000.

Location & Schedule

3284 Barrett Dr., Suite 310, Raleigh, NC 27609 - North Carolina requires an operating clinic location on file to apply for our facility license, so we re opening here first. We’ll relocate to our permanent site at 3540 Maitland Dr #102, Raleigh, NC 27610 once that license and build-out are complete, anticipated around December. Monday – Friday, 8:30a – 5:00p EST, with one work-from-home day per week.

Required Licensure & Supervisory Credential

Because this role provides board-approved clinical supervision to associate-level clinicians, candidates must hold both an active, independent North Carolina clinical license and the specific supervisory credential recognized by that license’s board. You must hold at least one of the following:

  • LCSW (NC) with a minimum of 2 years of post-licensure clinical practice and an MSW from a CSWE-accredited program, in good standing with the NC Social Work Certification and Licensure Board - eligible to supervise LCSW Associates (LCSWA).
  • LCMHCS (NC) - the NC Board of Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselors’ supervisor credential, required to supervise LCMHC Associates (LCMHCA). An LCMHC license alone, without the LCMHCS credential, does not qualify.
  • LMFT (NC) with board-approved supervisor status (LMFT-S) - required to supervise LMFT Associates (LMFTA).
Qualifications

Active, independent North Carolina clinical licensure with a board-recognized supervisory credential, as detailed above (LCSW + 2 yrs post-licensure / LCMHCS / LMFT-S ). Minimum of 2 years of experience providing therapy to individuals with substance use disorders. LCAS or dual credentialing (mental health + addiction license) preferred. Experience with telehealth platforms and virtual care delivery is a plus. Strong knowledge of SUD diagnoses, medications, and treatment modalities. Ability to effectively interact with diverse staff, patients, and community members. Excellent interpersonal skills, a flexible, can-do mentality, and commitment to continuous learning. Passionate about Steadfast Health’s mission to provide low-barrier, non-punitive, harm-reduction-oriented SUD care.

Your Responsibilities
Clinical Supervision & Leadership

Provide board-approved clinical supervision to associate-level clinicians through weekly individual and group supervision, in compliance with all applicable NC board requirements. Manage clinician caseloads and ensure behavioral health staff adherence to treatment plans. Collaborate with the Medical Director, Peer Supervisor, and Facility Administrator or Operations Director to align clinical care and operational goals. Maintain all required supervision documentation, contracts, and reporting per NC board standards.

Therapy & Patient Care

Provide individual and group therapy for patients with substance use disorders, in-person and via telehealth, embodying the Steadfast patient-first ethos. Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and develop individualized treatment plans, modeling a non-paternalistic, destigmatizing approach to care. Utilize evidence-based modalities - including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) - to support recovery. Collaborate with clinic-level team members, including Advanced Practice Providers, Medical Assistants, and Peer Recovery Specialists, to ensure integrated treatment. Support patients in crisis intervention and coordinate higher levels of care when needed. Maintain thorough, timely documentation in compliance with state, federal, and organizational guidelines. Pioneer innovative approaches to improving access and care for disadvantaged, marginalized populations. Educate patients and families on SUD, co-occurring disorders, and resources supporting sustained recovery.

Benefits
  • Healthcare Coverage: medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Time Off: flexible PTO, floating paid holidays, and paid volunteer days.
  • Re-Fuel Days: 4 additional paid days off per year for mental health, rest, or CEU activities.
  • Continuing Education: annual CEU stipend and ongoing paid training, including supervision-specific CE required to maintain your supervisor credential.
  • Support Toward Licensure: clinical supervisors provided to sign off on associate hours — helping your future supervisees earn licensure without the cost of an outside supervisor.
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP): free, confidential therapist sessions, legal guidance, financial resources, and health coaching.
  • Protected Time: daily downtime for recharging, clinical supervision, cross-functional collaboration, and administrative tasks (including a dedicated 1-hour block).
  • AI-enabled EMR documentation to reduce administrative burden.
  • 401(k) Match up to 5%.
  • 100% employer-paid short-term and long-term disability, and employer-sponsored life insurance.
  • Additional perks: SoFi student loan interest rate discount, Rightway Health Concierge, 1 year of free pet telehealth through Pawp, and Perkspot discount marketplace.
Physical Requirements & General Policies

The physical demands described here are representative of those required to perform the essential functions of this role. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. Ability to sit and move between patient sessions, meetings, and clinical documentation work throughout the day. Frequent use of hands for typing, writing, and handling clinical documentation and materials. Ability to respond promptly to emergency or crisis situations, including patients in distress. Sufficient visual and auditory ability to assess patient needs, review documentation, and communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members. Work may involve exposure to high-stress situations requiring emotional resilience, crisis intervention, and de-escalation skills. Schedules reflect current anticipated needs and may evolve as the organization grows; some flexibility may be required over time.
