Job summary

The New York Foundling is seeking a Clinical Supervisor to lead a team of up to five clinicians within a hybrid work arrangement in New York. The role supports licensure through supervision and provides direct mental health services to children and families served by our foster care and mental health programs.

Ideal candidates hold a Master’s in Social Work and an active license with 3–5 years clinical experience in diverse youth populations.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work or related field; active state license (LMHC-D, LMFT, LCAT or LCSW).
• 3–5 years of direct service experience with diverse youth and families, including foster care context.
• Strong clinical and diagnostic skills with risk and safety assessment experience.
• Leadership/ supervisory experience preferred (1–2 years).
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide weekly individual and group supervision for up to five clinicians to ensure quality service delivery.
• Offer crisis support during hours of operation and participate in weekend on-call rotation.
• Review intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes for compliance.
• Support interview and onboarding processes and staff development.
• Engage stakeholders to coordinate client care and community integration.
• Participate in monthly Program Monitoring Meetings and improve KPIs.
• Deliver direct services including therapy, skill-building, and assessments as needed.

The Foster Care Mental Health program utilizes evidenced-based, trauma-informedtherapeutic modelstoprovide mental health treatment toyouth and adolescents enrolled in foster care.The position will function as a part of a multidisciplinary team consisting of psychologists, psychiatrists, case planners, medical staff and more, working together to support the health and wellbeing of children in our care.

We offer a hybrid schedule (office/remote) and supervision to support obtaining licensure.

This is a hybrid position with at least three days on-site required. 35 hours per week; daily schedule is flexible to accommodate client and clinician scheduling needs (within the general operating hours of 10am-8pm, Monday-Friday). Supervisors are expected to provide at least one day of late-night coverage per week. Participate in weekend on-call rotation.

The clinical supervisor leads a team of up to 5 clinicians and provides direct support by providing weekly supervision, case consultation, crisis support, clinic coverage, and documentation review with the goal of ensuring high quality services are provided to identified clients.

Core Responsibilities:

• Provide weekly individual and group supervision for the implementation of clinical services for up to 5 clinicians to ensure proper mental health model service delivery, monitor clinician performance, address areas of concern, provide clinical guidance and feedback, and promote clinical and professional development.
• Ensure clients in crisis receive the necessary support by providing clinical crisis support to clinicians and/or clients during hours of operation, after hours if needed, and participating in a weekend on-call rotational schedule. Be well-versed in safety protocols.
• Review clinician's paperwork, including but not limited to, intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes to ensure compliance with agency, model, and other governing body regulations.
• Work with AVP to grown the team and participate in interview, weigh-in on hiring decisions, and support onboarding of frontline staff and potential supervisees.
• Engage with and foster positive relationships (proactive communication, attending/coordinating meetings) with internal and external key stakeholders and key participants in client care to promote community integration and coordinate care for clients.
• Participate in monthly Program Monitoring Meetings to ensure team is successfully meeting all Key Performance Indicators. Share data with team on strengths and areas for growth and implement plans to address areas in which Key Performance Indicators are not met.
• Directly provide services including therapy, skill-building, screenings/assessments/evaluations, and/or rate packages to assigned caseload to ensure clients have needed services. Provide coverage of these during vacancies to ensure continuity of services. Document efforts of such.
• Participate in required meetings/trainings/supervision to coordinate support for clients and foster team cohesion and training.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work, Mental health Counseling or related subject area. Must hold an active state license (such as LMHC-D, LMFT, LCAT, and/or LCSW).
• Leadership, management, or supervisory experience - 1-2 years preferred
• Strong individual and team organizational skills
• Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills
• Computer literacy; including but not limited to proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, Email, and electronic medical records
• Strong clinical and diagnostic skills and 3-5 years of accumulated experience (internships through post-graduate) providing direct services to culturally diverse youth and their families. Clinical experience/training on common clinical problems, diverse populations served, foster care, and in modalities used within the department preferred.
• Strong understanding and the ability to implement the following: risk and safety assessment, safety planning, trauma assessment, crisis management, incident reporting, treatment planning, and HIPAA policies
• Creative, energetic, self-starter and independent worker

Education Required

Masters’s Degree from a U.S. accredited educational institution or Credential Evaluation for a non-U.S. educational institution

Salary Range:

$80,182.38/year + $5,000 Full licensure + $3,500 - Bilingual Additive (as applicable)
