Job summary

South Middlesex Opportunity Council is seeking a Clinical Director to oversee clinical programming within the residency, supervise recovery specialists, and support a Family Therapist. The role requires responding to emergencies, ensuring licensing compliance, and coordinating care across providers.

The position includes on-call responsibilities, a hybrid work option (0-20% from home), and a compensation package aligned with nonprofit health services.

Qualifications

  • 5 years clinical experience working with families and substance abuse.
  • Knowledge of child development.
  • Excellent organizational, training and time management skills.
  • Current certification in CPR and proof of TB status.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical services within the program.
  • Complete intake assessments on all clients.
  • Develop IAPs for all clients.
  • Coordinate with collateral providers to ensure care.
  • Facilitate clinical team meetings.
  • Review clinical paperwork for licensing and funding compliance.
  • Mentor and evaluate staff; complete required paperwork.
  • Follow evidenced-based treatment protocols.
  • Engage clients and address needs within or outside scope of work.
  • Attend agency-wide and engagement team meetings.
  • Maintain client, employee and agency confidentiality.
  • Ensure compliance with program, agency and funder requirements.
  • Respond to emergencies as needed.
  • Hybrid work: 0-20% from home with coordination.
  • Attend 9:00–5:00 schedule, 35 hours/week.

Job description

Summary

The Clinical Director is responsible for all clinical programing and services delivered within the residency. In addition to providing training, supervision, and support to the recovery specialists. The Clinical Director shall also provide supervision to the Family Therapist. The Clinical Director shall be available to respond to emergencies at all times. The Clinical Director will ensure compliance with all Licensing regulations.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Responsible for clinical services provided within the program.
  • Complete intake assessments on all clients.
  • Development of IAP’s for all clients.
  • Communicate with all collateral providers to ensure coordination of care. (DCF, Probation, Parole and Methadone clinic).
    Facilitate clinical team meetings.
  • Review all clinical paperwork to ensure compliance with licensing and funding regulations.
  • Manage, develop and evaluate staff by providing timely mentoring, training and performance management. Complete required paperwork in accordance with company policy.
  • Follow evidenced based treatment protocols.
  • Engage all clients by understanding and addressing their needs whether within or outside the scope of work.
  • Attend all required agency-wide meetings, including substance abuse team meetings.
  • Attend & participate in engagement team meetings as requested and communicate effectively with clients and staff in other areas.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client, employee and agency information in accordance with federal and state laws and funder requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with program/department, agency and/or funder requirements, as well as, SMOC policies & procedures.
  • Responsible for the program and client safety ability to respond to emergencies at any time.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
  • Masters Degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Human Services
  • License preferred: LICSW, LMHC, LADCI, LMFT
  • 5 years clinical experience working with families and substance abuse
  • Knowledge of child development
  • Excellent organizational, training and time management skills
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of MS Word & Excel
  • Current certification in CPR and proof of TB status
Organizational Relationship

Directly reports to the SMOC Director of Behavioral Health Care. Direct reports of this position are Clinical Recovery Specialists and Family Therapist.

Physical Requirement

Ability to ascend and descend stairs.

Working Conditions

This position has on-call responsibilities. As part of the responsibilities of this position, the Clinical Director will have direct or incidental contact with clients served by SMOC in various programs funded or administered through the Executive Office of Health and Human Services. A successful background check is required.

Hybrid Work Option

Hybrid work is permissible in some positions at SMOC depending on the key functions and responsibilities. The Clinical Director position is eligible to work from home 0-20% of the week in scheduling coordination with the department manager.

Monday through Friday: 9:00AM - 5:00PM. Includes a 1-hour unpaid lunch break.
35 Hours per week.
