Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology or Biological Science required.

• ASCP certified generalist or categorical technologist or equivalent accreditation required.
• Demonstrates autonomy, critical thinking, and leadership to oversee shift operations.
• Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft applications; experience with web-based applications.

Key responsibilities include but not limited to;Technical Oversight: Directs daily laboratory processes including HLA typing, crossmatching, antibody screening, and chimerism testing.Quality & Compliance: Ensures the lab meets all ASHI (American Society for Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics) and CLIA regulations, proficiency testing, quality assurance and CAP inspection readiness.Staff Management: Manages scheduling, competency assessments, performance evaluations, and ongoing staff training.Test Validation and Implementation: Leads and participates in the evaluation, validation, and implementation of new methodologies. Develops, reviews, and maintains SOPs and related documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and quality standards.Histotrac Upgrade and Maintenance: validates and implements HLA software upgrade and EPIC Beaker interface.Preferred candidates with CHS certification, at least 5 to 8 years of HLA laboratory experience and progressive supervisory/management experience. Acts as an expert resource within an area of specialty.Drives Quality Improvement initiatives and seeks ways to improve performance and service.Recommends and prepares Standard Operating Procedures for designated area and provides training in the area of expertise.Oversees scheduling and payroll.
