Job summary

Summerlin Hospital, a 496-bed acute care facility in Las Vegas, is seeking an experienced registered nurse to join the cardiovascular care team. You will provide direct and indirect nursing care, coordinate with a multi-disciplinary team, and support patient-centered care aligned with our mission.

Requirements include BSN, Nevada RN license, 1 year acute care experience (3 years part-time acceptable), and BLS; ACLS/PALS/NRP certifications or eligible.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing; BSN required.
• Minimum 1 year full-time or three years part-time experience in acute care nursing. Supervisory experience preferred.
• Proficiency in cardiovascular assessment; 12-lead EKG interpretation; knowledge of stress testing preferred.
• Current RN license in Nevada; BLS; ACLS, PALS, NRP and/or required specialty training.

Responsibilities

• Assumes shift responsibility for planning and provision of direct and indirect nursing care to patients and families.
• Coordinates multi-disciplinary team members and directs nursing staff to achieve safe, optimal health outcomes.
• Provides professional leadership and support to the healthcare team and ensures patient-centered care.

Summerlin Hospital is a 496-bed hospital featuring emergency services; a busy maternity department with an average of 450 deliveries per month; a Children’s Medical Center with a NICU, a pediatric ICU and separate pediatric ER; advanced cardiovascular care, surgical services, women’s health and oncology care. Job Description

Assumes shift responsibility and accountability for the planning and provision of direct and indirect nursing care to the patient, family, care partner and appropriate others. Coordinates multi-disciplinary team members, directs, and facilitates nursing staff in obtaining safe, optimal health care outcomes. This position supports activities that meet the facility vision, mission, and goals. This position provides professional leadership and support to the healthcare team. Oversees and guides employees that are under his/her supervision. The concepts of Patient Centered Care will propovide e the foundation for all nursing care. Demonstrates Service Excellence standards at all times.

Job Requirements

Education

Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing. BSN Required.

Experience

Minimum of one-year full time or three years part time experience in acute care specialty nursing. One to three years supervisory experience preferred.

Technical Skills

Must be proficient in physical assessment of the cardiovascular patient and fluent in cardiovascular anatomy and physiology. Candidate must be comfortable with 12 lead EKG interpretation and cardiac arrhythmias. Knowledgeable and experienced in stress testing is preferred.

License/Certification

Current RN license in the State of Nevada. Current BLS Certification. ACLS, PALS, NRP and/or required specialty training or course completion (current upon hire).

Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessment(s) required by the facility.

Incumbents in this position as of 3/1/2023 with 20 years or more in the position will not require bachelor’s degree.
