Gateway Foundation, Inc. is a national non-profit dedicated to helping individuals with substance use and mental health disorders. We are seeking a Clinical Supervisor to lead counselors and ensure high quality evidence-based treatment within a compassionate team.

The role emphasizes supervision, program oversight, and adherence to regulatory standards while supporting professional growth and a culture of diversity and inclusion across communities served.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in social sciences or Master’s in psychology/social work/mental health or related field
  • Minimum of 100 hours of documented clinical training in counseling
  • Three years of relevant experience including at least 2 years of clinical supervision after licensure or certification attainment
  • Licensure or certification required: CAP/MCAP/CCJAP or LMHC/LCSW/LMFT

Responsibilities

  • Supervises counselors and clinical staff delivering assessment, SUD education, treatment and case management
  • Oversees client program, audits records for regulatory and contractual compliance
  • Acts as a professional resource to counselors for complex case problems and guidance
  • Interprets and enforces policies, contributes to treatment protocols and processes
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Clinical Supervisors are responsible for
  • Supervises Counselors and other clinical support staff delivering assessment, substance use disorder education and treatment, and case management to clients.
  • Oversees client program: evaluates counselors’ work performance, audits client records to ensure regulatory and contractual compliance and achievement of service delivery objectives.
  • Serves as a professional resource to other counselors in resolving complex case problems and provides clinical supervision and guidance.
  • Interprets and enforces the organization and facility policies and procedures, contributes to development of treatment protocols and processes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in any of the social sciences OR
  • Master’s degree in psychology, social work, mental health or substance abuse counseling, or closely related field, or equivalent education and life experience.
  • Minimum of 100 hours documented clinical training in counseling theory and practice.
  • Three (3) years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years of clinical supervision following licensure OR certification attainment.
  • One of the following is required: Current Certified Addictions Professional (CAP); or Masters Certified Addictions Counselor (MCAP); or Certified Criminal Justice Addictions Professional (CCJAP) or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to walk and move about the facilities for up to two hours at a time, to monitor and interact with clients.
  • Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Ability to record, proofread and check documents and files for accuracy, to prepare and analyze data and figures, transcribe, read.
  • Ability to use a keyboard and video display terminal to receive, retrieve, and/or audit information and data.
  • Ability to respond to telephones, and to hear and detect alarms and unusual noises.
Compensation (based on experience and credentials)
  • Range begins at $73,486 annually.
  • Gateway Foundation conducts annual reviews including merit increases.
