Job summary

Safe Place Counseling in Houston seeks a Clinical Supervisor to lead supervision, quality oversight, and professional development for assessment, therapy, and treatment planning teams. The role combines clinical leadership with hands-on practice and a seat on the agency leadership team.

You will supervise LPC Associates, practicum students, and LMSWs, ensure documentation quality, guide risk management, and support hiring and onboarding while maintaining a small patient caseload.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in counseling or a related behavioral health field
• Current, unrestricted Texas LPC license in good standing and active LPC-S designation
• At least five years of clinical practice after independent licensure
• Experience in outpatient or community behavioral health, audits, peer review, and onboarding
• Proven ability to provide effective clinical supervision and documentation review
• Strong knowledge of ethics, privacy, and agency/payer documentation standards
• Strong communication, organizational, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills

Responsibilities

• Provide board-approved supervision to LPC Associates, with required records and reports
• Provide supervision or consultation to other clinicians and assist with case formulation and treatment planning
• Provide weekly supervision to practicum students and interns and coordinate learning objectives
• Offer agency-based supervision to LMSWs and coordinate licensure supervision with an LCSW-S
• Review and co-sign psychotherapy notes, assessments, and treatment plans
• Conduct chart audits, peer reviews, and provide remediation guidance
• Advise on elevated-risk cases, safety planning, and ethics compliance
• Assist with interviewing and onboarding of clinicians and supervisees
• Orient new clinicians to workflows, documentation, and EHRs
• Deliver ongoing clinical training and development, and support learning plans for practicum/internship
• Participate in agency leadership meetings and collaborate across departments
• Maintain a small psychotherapy caseload and manage workload balance
