Job summary

Acentra Health is seeking a Clinical Supervisor to lead our Review Operations team and ensure timely, accurate nurse-review outcomes for contract deliverables.

The role requires RN licensure, an ASN or equivalent nursing education (BSN preferred), and several years of supervisory and clinical experience. You will manage workloads, monitor quality, and serve as a primary liaison with providers in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Active RN licensure required.
  • ASN or equivalent nursing education required; BSN preferred.
  • Minimum of three years supervisory experience in a healthcare field with 1–3 years' review experience required.
  • Two years' recent clinical experience.
  • Previous workload management experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises day-to-day Review Operations of nurse reviewers or prior authorization requests to meet contract deliverables.
  • Assesses, evaluates and addresses daily workload and queues; adjusts work schedules to meet department demands.
  • Analyzes productivity of nurse reviewers.
  • Identifies reviewers' orientation and learning needs and develops plans with the Manager, Operations.
  • Responsible for quality monitoring activities including audits, QIP, database management, and assisting with IRR.
  • Maintains current knowledge base related to review processes and clinical practices.
  • Functions as providers' liaison and contact/resource for provider customer service issues.
  • Performs all applicable review types as workload indicates.
  • Read, understand, and adhere to corporate policies including HIPAA and Privacy and Security Rules.

Job Summary
  • Supervises Review Operations day-to-day activities of the nurse reviewers or prior authorization requests in the assigned areas to successfully meet contract deliverables. Assists in meeting contract deliverables related to the Review Department within budgetary parameters.
Responsibilities
  • Assures accuracy and timeliness of all applicable review type cases within contract requirements.
  • Assesses, evaluates and addresses daily workload and queues; adjusts work schedules daily to meet the workload demands of the department.
  • Analyzes productivity of nurse reviewers.
  • Identify Clinical Reviewers' orientation and continuous learning needs and in collaboration with the Manager, Operations, develops and implements plans to address those identified learning needs.
  • Responsible for the quality monitoring activities including identifying areas of improvement and plan implementation of improvement areas including quarterly audits, QIP, database management, and assisting with IRR.
  • Maintains current knowledge base related to review processes and clinical practices related to the review processes; functions as the initial resource to nurse reviewers regarding all review process questions and/or concerns.
  • Functions as providers' liaison and contact/resource person for provider customer service issues and problem resolution.
  • Performs all applicable review types as workload indicates.
  • Read, understand, and adhere to all corporate policies including policies related to HIPAA and its Privacy and Security Rules.

Required Qualifications
  • Active RN licensure required.
  • ASN or equivalent nursing education required; BSN or related Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years supervisory experience in a healthcare field with a minimum of 1-3 years' review experience required.
  • Two years' recent clinical experience.
  • Previous workload management experience strongly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills required.
  • Organizational skills, ability to plan and prioritize multiple assignments essential.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software programs operating in a Windows environment.

Experience in Lieu of Degree

For non-clinical roles, or when not required by the contract specifically, the Company acknowledges that practical, hands-on experience can provide skills and competencies equivalent to formal education. As such, in cases where a Bachelor's degree may be required, the Company will accept a minimum of six (6) years of directly relevant professional experience in lieu of a degree. In instances where the candidate has an Associate's degree, the Company will accept a minimum of three (3) years of directly relevant professional experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree.
