Pinnacle Recruitment is assisting a behavioral health organization in Bakersfield, CA to recruit an experienced Clinical Supervisor for its outpatient SUD and co-occurring treatment program. This leadership role supports counselors and clinicians, ensuring quality care, compliant documentation, and staff development.

The ideal candidate holds a California license (LCSW/LMFT/LPCC) or DHCS waiver eligibility, with strong supervision, crisis management, and EHR experience.

Qualifications

  • Current California LCSW, LMFT, or LPCC license required, OR doctorate in a Behavioral Science with eligibility for a DHCS licensing waiver.
  • Experience providing clinical supervision.
  • Experience working with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health disorders.
  • Strong understanding of clinical documentation, medical necessity, treatment planning, and ASAM-based level-of-care assessment.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2.
  • Strong clinical assessment, crisis-management, and case conceptualization skills.
  • EHR experience preferred.
  • Experience with clinical policies, workflows, and quality improvement highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical supervision, consultation, and support to counselors, therapists, and clinical staff
  • Conduct individual and/or group clinical supervision
  • Provide case consultation and guidance on complex client situations
  • Review clinical documentation, treatment plans, and charts for quality and compliance
  • Help ensure documentation supports medical necessity and applicable regulatory requirements
  • Support quality assurance, audits, licensing reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Coach, train, and develop clinical team members
  • Assist with onboarding and orientation of new clinical staff
  • Partner with program leadership regarding clinical performance and staff development
  • Provide clinical consultation regarding crisis situations and elevated-risk clients
  • Support appropriate referrals and transitions to higher levels of care when necessary
  • Coordinate with medical providers, psychiatric providers, MAT services, hospitals, residential programs, probation/parole, and community resources as appropriate
  • Promote compliance with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, professional standards, and organizational policies

About The Role

Our client, an established behavioral health organization serving individuals with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health needs, is seeking an experienced Clinical Supervisor to join its growing clinical team in Bakersfield.
This is a hands-on clinical leadership position supporting an outpatient Substance Use Disorder and co-occurring/dual-diagnosis treatment program. The Clinical Supervisor will provide leadership and guidance to counselors, therapists, and other clinical staff while helping ensure high-quality client care, appropriate documentation, regulatory compliance, staff development, and effective day-to-day clinical operations.

Key Responsibilities

Ideal candidate:

A licensed clinician who has progressed into clinical leadership/supervision and has meaningful experience working with SUD and/or co-occurring behavioral health populations.
