Deaconess seeks an Inpatient Clinical Pharmacist to join our hospital pharmacy team. You will provide direct clinical services while supporting operational activities, delivering patient‑centered care and promoting medication safety.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy from an accredited school.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in Indiana and Kentucky, with licensure within 45 days of employment.
  • Strong clinical judgment and evidence‑based patient care.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive clinical pharmacy services for assigned patient care areas
  • Review and verify medication orders to ensure safe, accurate, and appropriate therapy
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and collaborate with healthcare teams on patient care decisions
  • Complete pharmacotherapy consults and provide medication‑related recommendations
  • Educate patients and caregivers on medication therapies and treatment plans
  • Respond to code blue events and other clinical emergencies as needed
  • Perform medication chart reviews to identify opportunities for optimization and improved outcomes
  • Support pharmacy operations through order verification, drug distribution, and IV room product verification
  • Provide oversight and guidance to pharmacy technicians during daily departmental operations
  • Contribute to medication safety, quality improvement, and process enhancement initiatives
  • Participate in department and hospital committees
  • Support the development of future pharmacy professionals through student precepting and mentoring opportunities

Practice at the Top of Your License While Making a Difference in Patient Care

We are seeking a dedicatedInpatient Clinical Pharmacist to join our hospital pharmacy team. In this role, you will provide direct clinical pharmacy services while also supporting pharmacy operations that ensure safe and effective medication use throughout the hospital.

After an initial training period, pharmacists work in both clinical and operational roles, with the majority of time spent providing clinical care. You'll serve as an integral member of the healthcare team, collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other clinicians to optimize medication therapy, improve patient outcomes, and promote medication safety.

Our pharmacists are supported by advanced technology and highly skilled technicians, allowing them to focus on meaningful clinical work and practice at the top of their license.

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BSPharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited school of pharmacy
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Pharmacist in Indiana and Kentucky
  • Ability to obtain required licensure within 45 days of employment
  • Strong clinical judgment and commitment to evidence‑based patient care
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced healthcare environment

Preferred:
  • Previous hospital pharmacy experience
  • Advanced certifications such as BCPS, BCOP, or other relevant specialty credentials
