Job summary

Adventist Health’s Saint Helena Hospital seeks a qualified social work professional to provide psychosocial services to patients and families across all ages. The role includes assessment, crisis intervention, and referrals to community resources.

Required are a Bachelor’s and a Master’s in social work, plus three years’ experience in health or welfare settings (preferred). LCSW is preferred. Per diem, 8-hour shifts, with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent (some certifications will require Bachelor’s).
• Master’s Degree in social work or equivalent combination of education/experience.
• Three years' experience in a social agency, hospital, or other organization dealing with health and/or welfare is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes effective problem solving strategies to reach decisions, take appropriate action and follow-through within assigned scope of responsibility.
• Provides consultation and counseling with patients, families, staff, and others in the service of patients.
• Participates in departmental and interdisciplinary meetings and activities.
• Obtains or coordinates resources from community, social, health and welfare agencies.
• Provides training for nursing staff to intervene during on-call hours and weekends.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
