Yale New Haven Health seeks a Clinical Social Worker I to serve as the clinical expert in assessment and treatment for patients and families across inpatient and ambulatory settings. You will provide diagnostic assessment, counseling, psychotherapy, and crisis intervention while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.

The role includes teaching/mentoring and involvement in projects as assigned by supervision, with strong emphasis on empathy, listening, and advocacy for patients and families

Qualifications

• Master's Degree from an accredited school of social work.
• Connecticut: 3,000 post-masters hours and 100 hours of post-masters clinical supervision; Rhode Island: 24 months LICSW supervision.
• Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) CT/LICSW RI or endorsement with CT/RI licensure requirements.
• Special skills: empathy, active listening, critical thinking, strong organizational and computer skills, and the ability to advocate for patients and families.

The Clinical Social Worker I is a licensed, experienced professional who is the clinical expert in the assessment and treatment of patients, families and social work consultation to the interdisciplinary teams in a variety of inpatient and ambulatory settings in the Yale New Haven Health System. As the clinical expert, the scope of practice includes, but is not limited to, diagnostic assessment, counseling, psychotherapy, brief treatment, crisis intervention, mental health consultation, teaching/mentoring, and/or other project/task force participation as assigned by supervisor. The clinical social worker will work collaboratively with members of the health care teams throughout the organization. As the clinical expert, the scope of practice includes, but is not limited to, diagnostic assessment, counseling, psychotherapy, brief treatment, crisis intervention, mental health consultation, teaching/mentoring, and/or other project/task force participation as assigned by supervisor. The clinical social worker will work collaboratively with members of the health care teams throughout the organization.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

Master's Degree from an accredited school of social work.

EXPERIENCE

For Connecticut, consistent with LCSW licensure requirements, 3,000 hours of post-masters social work experience and 100 hours of post-masters clinical supervision. For Rhode Island, consistent with LICSW licensure requirements, 24 months of experience licensed as a licensed clinical social worker under appropriate supervision.

LICENSURE

Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) from the State of Connecticut, or Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) from the State of Rhode Island, or those holding licenses from other states, will need an 'endorsement' and meet the State of Connecticut or State of Rhode Island license requirements
