Clinical (Social Work) Coordinator - MCRT

Westchester Jewish Community Services (WJCS), a nonprofit founded in 1943, has grown to be the largest provider of licensed outpatient community mental health services and one of the largest human service agencies in Westchester County. We provide state‑of‑the‑art programs and services and compassionate care to more than 20,000 people of all ages and backgrounds each year.

We are seeking a full‑time Clinical Coordinator to join our Northern Westchester Mobile Crisis Response Team (MCRT) and help bridge the gap between mental health services and law enforcement. This is a direct service position, responding with clinical mental health skills to clients in all stages of crisis. Our mission is to provide mental health safety assessments, risk evaluations, and referrals for individuals who connect with the police, but would be better served by mental health professionals.

Under the general supervision of the MCRT Director, the MCRT Clinical Coordinator will supervise 2–3 staff, complete staffing schedules, cover the program in the Director’s absence, and also fulfill the role of MCRT Clinician, providing mental health services to persons in the community before, during or after crisis, as referred by catchment area Police Departments, the Crisis Network Team or the Department of Community Mental Health.

The salary range is $80,000‑$85,000 per year. An additional $5,000 is offered to candidates who are bilingual in English/Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update staffing schedules in collaboration with team and Director.
• Supervise 2–3 MCRT staff members.
• Cover program responsibilities in the Director’s absence, be available for on‑call duties as needed, and cover 2–3 holidays per year.
• Conduct safety and risk assessments, developing immediate intervention plans with the client(s) in compliance with OMH regulations.
• Follow‑up with clients as determined by need, for a period of 2–4 weeks, providing short‑term interventions in various modalities, including individual and family/caregiver sessions.
• Document clinical interactions in a timely and appropriate manner.
• Maintain necessary patient‑related contacts with other agencies and resources (courts, schools, etc.), including written material, telephone and in‑person contacts.
• Follow‑up visits and calls/video session as determined by client need, for 2–4 weeks, with the aim to stabilize the client by linking them to needed services for which they have been referred.
• Professionally represent the agency at community meetings and trainings.
• Consult and collaborate with other members of the interdisciplinary team.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Social Work or related field from an accredited school.
• Possession of New York State licensure (LMSW, LCSW, LMHC) is mandatory.
• Experience in mental health crisis intervention and risk assessment is a plus.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
