The University of Chicago’s Department BSD OBG - Administration is seeking a senior administrator to lead financial and management functions, support teaching, research, and clinical care, and guide a team of exempt and non-exempt employees. The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology has 136 clinical providers, providing care at the main hospital in Hyde Park and more than seven off site locations. We have more than 85,000 outpatient visits, 2,500 deliveries, and 3,300 surgeries per year. Teaching, research, and the highest quality clinical care are top priorities for the Department. The residency and fellowship programs are highly ranked and have a history of training leaders in healthcare. The Department also has a significant research enterprise, engaging in population health studies, as well as research conducted in wet laboratories on tumor biology, fibroid research, and hypertensive diseases in pregnancy.
The job manages a team of professional staff responsible for the financial and management functions of a department in support of teaching, medical research and clinical care. Facilitates research initiatives of the faculty and staff. Develops departmental plans. Provides leadership and supervision to a staff of exempt and non-exempt employees.
Education: Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.
Work Experience: Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 7+ years of work experience in a related job discipline.

Education: Advanced degree in business, health care administration or related field.
Experience: Healthcare and/or academic medical experience.
Supervisory experience.
Demonstrated budgeting and forecasting experience strongly preferred.
Previous coding and charge capture experience, as well as thorough working knowledge of ICD-10CM and CPT-4 coding systems strongly preferred.
Previous experience with charge capture management and gross revenue management.
Experience in Epic revenue cycle and/or clinical applications.
Prior experience in a hospital finance setting (i.e. reimbursement, chargemaster, patient financial services, hospital operations, etc.).
